I have bought quite a few Weleda products recently as if you buy them online you can get them for quite a good price compared to how much you used to pay. I had a voucher for Amazon and had around £6 left and I bought this Aloe Vera body lotion for just £6.45. It is a 250ml bottle which is in a white plastic bottle and the one I have has a pump dispenser which you press to release the lotion. It contains aloe vera extracts and it smells lovely and light and also fresh and clean. The cream is white and it feels quite light but it has a richness which you can feel when you rub it into your hands and body, however it doesn't feel greasy or sticky at all.
To use the lotion I will press the pump until I get a blob around the size of a ten pence piece and I will usually start with my legs and feet and then move up to my arms and shoulders. I will repeat this once or twice more until I am happy that I have covered all the areas which need moisturising. Obviously as I am using my hands to apply the lotion they get the most coverage and I will just make sure that I rub some of the lotion onto the backs of my hands.
The lotion seems to absorbs quickly without a lo of rubbing and my skin feels very soft and hydrated immediately. I have never had any greasy feeling left on my hands or felt that I can't touch anything afterwards without leaving behind any remnants of cream and in the colder weather when I am wearing gloves I find I can put them on straight away. As well as aloe vera it also contains coconut oil and sesame oil and pure plant oils. I also use this lotion as an after sun as the aloe vera is very calming on the skin.
This lotion is ideal to use daily to protect and moisturise your skin and I can definitely say that my skin feels very soft straight away and this feeling remains for a long time after using it. I have been using this lotion now for several months and still have around half of the bottle left so it is good value. This is a lovely everyday lotion and I do recommend it to others.
Weleda Aloe Vera Body Lotion
Having fallen in love with the Weleda Calendula range of products, I also discovered the wonders of Aloe Vera and seek out Aloe Vera products wherever I can. So, when I spotted Aloe Vera products in the Weleda range a few years ago whilst browsing in an independent chemist to get out of the rain, I decided to buy some.
Weleda do a wonderful job with their ranges of choosing colours to signify the main product and the Aloe Vera range is provided in a wonderful green packaging. Now back in the day when I first had this I had a peach coloured bathroom suite and pale green or as I liked to call it aqua accessories. So the green labled Aloe Vera containers went very well on the shelf above the bath. Presented in a dark green box, the container within is white recyclable plastic and although it does not feature the hand grip shape of the cream bath there is a patterned relief to the plastic almost as if it should have been that shape.
I was pleased that the lotion had a good amount of Aloe Vera Gel included and although I am no longer a big fan of shea butter at the time that was all the rage, so the ingredients list was a big hit with me. The Aloe Vera lotion is a white coloured, slightly runny lotion that absorbs easily and leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth.
Weleda claim that "The pure vegetable oils are extracted from seeds and fruits which are ripened in the sunlight and (unlike mineral oils which are hard for the body to convert and utilise) are readily absorbed by the skin, with immediate benefits." Tick, I certainly have to agree with that, it is a really lovely product to use.
Aloe Vera is a succulent plant containing a pure inner gel. The gel of the Aloe Vera Barbadensis has been used for centuries to improve and maintain health and beauty. Natural Aloe Vera Gel is a bitter tasting natural gel that can be used both internally and externally in its natural form and is a product in many beauty products. Personally, I use it in soap making, on burns and anywhere healing or cleansing is required.

As mentioned this product is easily absorbed and I tend to use it as I would any other body lotion when I get out of the bath, I also find it wonderfully soothing after waxing my legs and other areas and it a star product in this instance. I simply squeeze a little onto my hand and gently smooth over my skin. The lotion lasts for ages as only a little is required and by carefully smoothing on the runny lotion a little covers a good area of my body.
The fragrance is delicate and slightly citrus, but ever so subtle, this product could easily be used by men who need a bit of body tlc but don't want a floral fragrance or to choose a product from a "man" range.
...was formed in the 1920's by a group of German doctors who wished to create a range of holistic products that would not just treat the symptoms, but heal the whole person. Today their ethos is a very green stance and they use organic ingredients wherever possible, do not test on animals and pioneered recycling before it became fashionable and produce a huge range of high quality medicinal and beauty products that are sold worldwide. They have a unit in Derbyshire where some of their products are grown.
...I am so pleased I was introduced to this range of products by a pharmacist and would highly recommend Weleda to anyone who wants to use an additive free and holistically balanced the range of products. I have always been pleased with the products I have tried and this lotion is no exception.
Incorporating the healing capabilities of Aloe Vera with the moisturisation of Shea Butter, skilfully blended by Weleda with other ingredients this is a very good lotion. The only thing I don't like is that the consistency does seem a little runny, but then it is a lotion, not a butter.
Stars 5/5 a great product that I am so pleased to have the opportunity to review

I have quite pale skin and when I go on holidays, I work really hard to get a sun tan. I always ensure that I use a good after sun product so I can hang on to my little bit of colour. One of the products that I purchased for this reason was the Weleda Aloe Vera Body Lotion.
What does the product do?
The product promises to be easily absorbed by the skin to leave it hydrated and soft. The light formula of the product claims that it will leave your skin feeling fresh and relaxed. It contains Aloe Vera to cool and soothe the skin after exposure to the sun by helping to regulate the moisture levels of the skin. It comes packed full of natural ingredients to moisturise, nourish and support your skin including Shea butter, Jojoba Oil and Apricot oil which will leave your skin in a comfortable condition after shaving or swimming.
How do you use the product?
Less is more with this product and you should only use as much as your skin can easily absorb. It needs to be applied to dry skin and it needs to be massaged into the body until it has all been absorbed. It can be reapplied as often as needed.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a plain white plastic bottle which has a green image on the front. It has a white screw top lid which is a bit of a pain to open and close with slippery hands. The product will cost you about £7 for 200ml and it is available to buy from a couple of websites.
This product is a very light lotion. It has a milky runny texture which is unusual for a product which contains Shea butter and it is a creamy white colour. It has a strong aroma to it which does fade away after application which is a good thing because I really don't like it all that much. Despite there being no obvious lemony ingredient, I do detect a citrus aroma but with a dry warm edge. As I said, it is really not to my taste but it fades away so it wouldn't put me off using the lotion.
The lotion feels instantly calming and cooling on my warm skin after sunbathing. It has such a light texture on my skin that it is almost absorbed as opposed to me massaging it in and it doesn't take long for it to have disappeared. You can feel it hydrating the skin and it takes away all feels of tightness and dryness straight away. It doesn't leave my skin looking or feeling greasy or unclean, and the formula hasn't irritated my skin or made me experience any discomfort, even when applying immediately after shaving.
Unfortunately, these good results don't continue. It does leave my skin feeling soft and smooth but the effects are not very long lasting and it isn't too long before the hydrating effects are gone and I feel the need to reapply. This makes me think that it is not helping my skin to retain the moisture as promised. It also means that the product was used up a lot quicker than it should have been.
All in all, this is a nice body lotion which contains plenty of natural ingredients and which soothes, cools and hydrates the skin straight away. It does make my skin soft and soothe but the results are not long lasting even for me at all. I don't like the aroma either but this fades away so it wasn't a big problem for me. I definitely won't be repurchasing this product again as it didn't tick enough boxes for me.
