Cellulite is something that at least 90% of woman suffer from and only woman. It's a not a sign of being overweight as thin, fat, average, short and tall woman can all suffer from cellulite. Diet and exercise can of course help to reduce the appearance of cellulite as physical exercise stimulates blood and lymph circulation, and burns fat. Regular, sustainable activities are best, so never miss an opportunity to walk, use stairs, and keep the muscles in the legs and bottom toned. Dry brushing before showing and bathing and also using a body scrub can also help to increase circulation which can also reduce the appearance of cellulite. This sounds like a lot of hard work; how-ever if you want to reduce the appearance of cellulite then you need to have the get up and go to do it. All these creams & oils sound great but these products alone are not going to help reduce the appearance of orange peel thighs.

I am reviewing the Weleda Cellulite Birch Oil which I purchased at least 2 months ago now. I had been reading lots of reviews about Weleda products just before Christmas and I actually tried the Weleda Birch Scrub and this Cellulite oil was a recommended product to go with it. Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil is a unique combination of plant extracts and natural plant oils which visibly improve the skin's texture and smoothness by stimulating the body's own regulating and regenerating processes. Natural essential oils support the toning effects of the other plants extracts leaving the skin feeling and looking supple whilst reducing the appearance of cellulite. This product claims to give you firm, smooth beautiful skin after just one month of regular use. When using the Birch Cellulite Oil twice daily over 28 days in combination with the Weleda Birch Juice, tester's skin was on average noticeably 35% firmer and skin elasticity improved by 20%. Like most woman I do have cellulite despite exercising on a regular basis and eating as healthily as possible. My cellulite probably isn't as bad I think it is but I do have a noticeable orange peel look on the back of my thighs. I often get paranoid about this and it makes me uncomfortable wearing shorts, etc. in the summer. The cellulite oil comes in a green glass bottle which has a white screw lid. I suppose the bottle looks a little like a medicine bottle but in green. The bottle actually comes in a green coloured box and it clearly states on the front of the box what the product is. There is also some other information on the box such as ingredients and a little more information about the product itself. Inside the box is a leaflet about the product and how to use it. It also lists some other products in the Weleda range as well. I am always a bit dubious when it comes to cellulite creams & treatments as I am always a bit unsure whether they are actually a waste of money or not.

I purchased the Cellulite Oil from Amazon for just under £20.00. You can purchase this from the Weleda website (www.weleda.co.uk) for £19.95, which is for a 100ml bottle of the oil.

Using the Product
= = = = = = = =
To use this product they suggest massaging the oil into slightly damp skin twice a day for around 4 weeks. After this you can use the product just once daily massaging into slightly damp skin as the previous weeks. Weleda claim that the oil can be spread easily and doesn't leave an oily film on your skin. Due to the bottle being made from glass it is slightly heavier than other bottles that are made from plastic. The bottle is thin and is slightly textured on the side to ensure that you can get a good grip on it when using it. The white cap removes easily which reveals another small plastic cap which has a hole in the top where the oil dispenses out of. As I had to apply this product twice a day I was going to apply it in the morning before getting dressed and also in the evening before going to bed. The first time I applied the oil was in the evening after showing. I patted my skin dry and then got ready to apply the oil. I removed the cap to the bottle and then titled it slightly to pour some of the oil into the palm of my hand. The oil comes out of the bottle very easily and it has a very thin consistency that you would expect from oil. When seeing the oil in my hand it looks as though it has a light green colour to it which I presume must have something to do with the ingredients. I applied the oil to my thighs and bottom, where I have some slight cellulite, making sure I massaged it in carefully. The oil has a scent to it, which I think smells slightly citrusy. At first I wasn't too sure about this product but with regular use of the product this is something I would get used to. I did wait for a good 5mins after applying the oil to ensure that it soaked in a little as I didn't want my night clothes or bed covers to get oily. The oil isn't greasy and is more of a dry oil and left a slight sheen on my skin which made it look healthy. I was going to continue to apply this product twice daily as directed for the next 4 weeks to see the results.

I didn't expect to see any real difference in my skin for at least 4 weeks, which is when I would be using the product twice daily every day. Obviously within this 4 weeks I have also been going to the gym at least 2-3 times a week and I have changed my diet slightly and have been eating a lot more fruit, veg, fish and other healthy foods. Within the 4 weeks of applying this product twice daily, I did notice a difference in the look of my skin. Although the cellulite hadn't totally gone it had now been reduced and was looking less bumpy than it had done before I started using the oil. My skin also looked much healthier and it felt a lot smoother and softer as well. Obviously this isn't just down to the oil but it's down to exercise and diet as well. I have to admit that there may have been a few days where I didn't apply the product twice a day but I did do my best to apply it at least once a day. My skin also seemed to looks slightly firmer as well, which is probably helped more due to going to the gym. I have been using the oil for at least 5/6 weeks now and my skin seems to be improving a little more the more I used the product. As the product is an oil I find that you don't need to use huge amounts of the oil, which means the product is quite long lasting, although I do need to purchase some more again in the next week or so.

I have read lots of different reviews about Weleda and most of the reviews about their products have been quite good. I have only read 1-2 reviews about this particular product and most people have said that they have seen results with this product when combining it with exercise and a healthy diet. I have used cellulite creams before and they have been rather expensive and I didn't really see many visible results. When applying the oil for the first time, I wasn't too sure about the scent of it but then this grew on me and now I quite like the scent of the oil. I found the oil really easy to apply and it didn't leave my skin feeling too greasy which was good. After applying the oil you do need to wait for a while before getting dressed otherwise the oil will probably transfer onto your clothes or bed sheets. My skin has not only improved in appearance but it feels so much better as well. My skin feels smoother and softer and because it feels and looks better it makes me feel more confident. It is a bit of a chore having to apply this oil twice a day over 4 weeks, but if you want to reduce the appearance of your cellulite then it's well worth doing. In terms of value the oil is quite pricey and is a lot more than what I have spent on a cellulite treatment before; how-ever I did want to try something from the Weleda range and after reading some reviews I did actually expect to see results, which I eventually did. I will definitely be buying some more of this product within the next few days to ensure that I don't run out. This is a really good product and I have been impressed with it.

Cellulite... It is horrible looking and I get it on my bum and the backs of my legs. I read an article about this product which actually sounded quite convincing so I bought some to try. I was sceptical as it sounds a little farfetched to state that Oil can get rid of cellulite. Well it is farfetched, I will not lie to you on that account however I will state that it does improve the condition and look of my skin. In fact, I think that combined with a stricter body buffing routine this oil has really helped my skin. I used it with the Weelda Birch juice and I definitely recommend the combination.
==Price and availability==
This is expensive and it looks expensive. For a bottle you will pay around £17. You need to apply it at least twice a day so be prepared to go through the bottle quickly.
The oil contains birch and rosemary which contain healing properties. Birch protects the skin cells from damage by free-radicals and help support natural purification. The oil has a lovely light lemon scent though which is nice and it lingers leaving me smelling lovely. The oil is best rubbed into damp skin and you will find that it hydrates the skin and keeps it supple. The oil needs to be massaged into the skin with circular movements at least twice a day for the first month of use and then you can start to back off and just use it once a day. The oil applies easily and it feels nice on my skin.
This is a caring product and I really feel like the silky smooth oil cared for my skin. The oil needs rubbing into the skin in order for it to soften and then tighten and this feels nice to do. The oil never caused me any irritation or problems and I found that it rubbed in quickly. This is good as I do not want to get any oil on my clothing. The oil can be used on other parts of the body and the general feeling it gave me was looked after and smooth. I think that the oil definitely helped my skin on my bottom and thighs and they visibly looked better. I combined the oil with a better routine at the gym and I found that my legs slimmed and the skin tightened. I was really pleased with the results and although I still have the odd ripples and sagging skin, I am much happier with my appearance and for that reason when the last bottle finished I did not replace it. I would buy it again and I do thing you should keep using it however life just got in the way of the routine!
This is a nice relaxing oil to use and it has some great health benefits. The oil is easy to apply and it gave me visible results. I would recommend it and buy it again.
Being a bit of a beauty product addict, I always like to try out new things and vary the brands that I use. One of my most exciting discoveries has been finding online companies that provide beauty boxes. The idea is that you will be sent a box every month, which will contain a selection of various make-up, skin care, fragrance products etc for you to try out, and I have been trying a few from different suppliers. I received this Birch Cellulite Oil by Weleda in a previous delivery from "Latest in Beauty". You can find further information at www.latestinbeauty.com, and www.weleda.co.uk
Product description: "Birch Cellulite Oil. Helps to improve skin tone and appearance. Promotes skins healthy balance."
This Birch Oil comes in a little glass bottle with a screw-top lid. It is available in two sizes: 10ml RRP £2.95 and 100ml RRP £19.95. I received two 10ml bottles and because I was using the oil frequently as recommended, this only lasted me for a couple of weeks. To use, you simply pour the oil from the bottle onto your hands and then apply over skin as required. You can see through the bottle how much product is left inside, and the oil itself has a slight green colour to it which makes it stand out. The colour is not at all noticeable on skin though, and it disappears once you rub it in!
Recommended directions for use: In the first four weeks Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil should be massaged into the skin with circular movements at least twice a day. For ongoing maintenance apply once a day. Massage the oil into the skin with moderate pressure towards the heart.
Tip: Massage into slightly damp skin. The oil can be spread easily and does not leave an oily film.
The oil itself is quite heavy but it does not feel sticky or greasy on the skin. I usually warm it a little between my hands before I rub it over my body, and this helps it to spread easily and also makes it feel a bit more comfortable. The oil gives off a wonderful scent which I really love and makes the whole experience of using it seem quite luxurious. It has a bitter citrus fragrance that makes me think of orange zest, and this is accompanied by a light woody undertone which makes it seem more exotic. I use this oil to specifically target my problem areas, over my thighs and buttocks, where patches of cellulite are most apparent. It is important to really massage the oil into the skin, and I spend a few minutes doing this to ensure that I get the best effect from using the product. The oil does leave a very light residue behind afterwards, and although it is not much I usually choose to apply the oil at night time which removes the risk of the oil marking my clothes. After using this oil my skin is left feeling really nourished and deeply moisturised, and is much smoother to the touch. Even with using this for a relatively short period of time, I have noticed a visible improvement, and the areas of cellulite that I was previously worried about seems to have broken down into smaller patches. This was without requiring any additional changes in my diet or exercise, and I feel confident that this product really delivers what it claims to do. As well as looking better, my skin feels in much better condition and it performs well in all respects.
I have really enjoyed using this body oil, and it is probably the nicest anti-cellulite product that I've used. I think that because this treatment is an oil rather than a gel or lotion, it has a far better effect on the skin because it really helps to moisturise and condition it as well as working on the deeper layers to help reduce cellulite. Weleda's Birch Cellulite Oil feels like a real luxury to use and I would definitely buy it again.
