The body wash has an intensive, fresh scent. The scent reminds of citrus fruits.
I can recommend the Weleda Citrus Creamy Body Wash, as it allows a gentle washing and cares for the skin. The skin feels fresh after use.
I bought a Weleda citrus gift set which contained both a body wash and a body lotion in it when I saw it in a shop for only £10. I knew Weleda was expensive so I thought this was a really good price and looking online I see that it is normally £22 to buy.
I love the smell of lemons and have loads of different aftershaves which contain citrus as the main ingredients but I think it is hard to find a nice shower gel which has a good citrus smell as a lot of them can end up smelling like furniture polish.
This is a really high quality shower gel and one that actually smells like citrus. It’s a really nice smell and one that is very refreshing and invigorating and will definitely leave you feeling awake after using it in the shower.
It contains both lemon and orange which work really well together as the orange helps to neutralize some of the sharpness of the lemon but still leaves it with that really refreshing smell.
I have really dry skin and a lot of shower gels can really dry my skin out and leave it feeling itchy but this was really good as it didn’t dry my skin out or leave it feeling itchy afterwards. It has a slight greasy feel to it when you are using it which helps to stop it from being drying but when it is rinsed off the greasiness goes with it and it just left my skin feeling comfortable and without any dryness.
It didn’t give much of a lather but I found that it didn’t really need to as it spread really well and even without the lather it left my skin feeling really clean.
This was a really nice shower gel to use but for me the main reason to buy it would be because of the smell as it is a really good one and is ideal for both men and women as the fragrance is very unisex smelling.
There is no better smell for me in summer than a lovely citrus fragrance and Weleda do some beautiful citrus products which not only leave skin feeling lovely but also smell amazing and really revive a tired body and make you feel fresh when the weather is hot and humid.
Weleda isn’t a cheap brand but it is worth paying extra for sometimes because it is such a pleasure to use and really does leave skin feeling in tip top condition. The body wash smells absolutely gorgeous and scents skin lightly with its lovely zesty fragrance. The smell is mainly lemon smelling but there are other citrus notes in there too.
It contains oils to moisturise the skin as well as cleaning it so you can use this and be assured that it isn’t going to dry your skin out and leave it feeling uncomfortable. It actually does make skin feel as though it is moisturised lightly after using it. For a body wash it moisturises almost as well as a light lotion. I like to use a separate moisturiser after using it but that’s only because my skin can be really dry and I like to layer my products but if you don’t have dry skin normally then you will probably be able to get away with just using this on its own.
You can tell that this is a really high quality product when you use it and there is no way you could mistake this for a cheap body wash. It lathers so nicely and leaves skin really soft but its the scent which really sets this apart. I think citrus is perfect for summer as it really leaves me feeling invigorated and refreshed and this is a lovely citrus smell that had the right balance of sweet and sharp and is very natural smelling.
It is slightly more expensive than you would pay for a cheap body wash but I do think it is worth the extra money because of the quality and also because you really don’t have to use a lot so even though it might cost more than a bottle from boots it will last a lot longer than that. It costs £7.95 and can be picked up from good quality chemists and health shops.
I have tried quite a few products by Weleda and I have been happy with most of them. I recently decided to give a new product a go and decided on the Citrus Creamy Body Wash.
What does the product do?
The product is described as being a refreshing body wash which promises to leave you feeling fresh and clean. It contains lemon and orange oils to tighten and brighten the skin, and which also invigorate and awaken the senses. The product claims to get you going in the morning and to refresh the mind after a long day in work. It contains plenty of organic ingredients and it is gentle on the skin.
How do you use the product?
The product should be applied to damp skin in either the shower or the bath. It can be applied directly to the skin or by applying it to a sponge and then rubbing it onto the body. It then needs to be rinsed away. The product can be used as frequently as required.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a two tone green bottle which matches the theme of the product nicely. It has a white flip top lid on which it can stand and it is easy to open and close even when your hands are wet and soapy. The product can be bought from around £7 for 200ml and it can be bought from large department stores and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is white in colour and it has a rich and creamy consistency for a shower gel which is indicated in the name of the product. It is thicker than most shower products that I have used and it gives the product a luxurious feeling. It has a lovely refreshing aroma, just as I expected, and it is incredibly citrus fresh. It isn't artificial at all and it is really invigorating. It certainly goes some way to making you more alert and awake in the morning.
You don't need to use much of the product in order to get the desired results. The product doesn't foam much because it doesn't contain foaming agents but using a sponge does help it along a little bit. Because of the creamy consistency of the product, I do prefer to apply it straight to my skin so that it moisturises my body more effectively. It feels completely comfortable on my skin and it hasn't caused me to experience any irritations or discomfort.
The aroma of the product is evident throughout the whole process and it does make the experience a more enjoyable one. It is easily rinsed off my skin and once my skin has been dried, the fragrance lingers lightly on the skin for a while after use. The product leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean and it does leave it feeling a little bit softer. The aroma makes this suitable for use on both men and women as the fragrance is neither feminine nor masculine.
All in all, this is a lovely shower product which is luxurious and creamy. It is gentle on my skin and it leaves my feeling really fresh and clean. The aroma is refreshing and awakening, and a little goes a long way so although it is quite pricey, the bottle should last for a considerable time.
When it comes to anything I apply to my skin I am particularly particular about the ingredients. I have stupidly super sensitive skin (one that pretty much erupts more regularly than Mount Etna alone). For some time now I've been struggling to find a chemical free shower gel that doesn't leave my skin red and irritated.
I'd often seen the Weleda products in my local health store and read that Liz Hurley uses their products (and I personally think she looks pretty darn good). Plus the fact Weleda also doesn't test on animals made me decide to give their Citrus Creamy Body Wash a whirl.
The shower gel contains 100% natural ingredients: Water (aqua), sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, coco-glucoside, alcohol, disodium cocoyl glutamate, glycerin, chondrus crispus (carrageenan), citrus medica limonum (lemon) peel oil, xanthan gum, lactic acid, fragrance (parfum)*, limonene*, linalool*, citral*.
* Natural Constituents of the Essential Oils
Formulated with vegetable-based cleansers and is Vegan friendly.
The Weleda Citrus Creamy Body Wash does seem to contain quite a high percentage of alcohol but that said it didn't seem to irritate my ridiculously sensitive skin.
I used this body wash with exfoliating gloves and although the product is low foaming, it is creamy and does lather up a tiny bit. It has a refreshing and divine citrus fragrance and as I adore citrus scents this has to be one of the best true citrusy scents I have smelt. It rinses well without drying out my already dry and sensitive skin and my body did feel very, very smooth afterwards.
The flip tube is easy to use and won't break when dropped (I know this as I often let things "fly" out of my hands when showering). However, a tiny bit WOULD go a long way but the packaging makes it extremely difficult to get even a tiny bit out of the container so in that respect you are using more of the product than you would perhaps like to.
The price can vary from anything from just over £5.00 to £8.00 and the best deals seem to be on the net. It's certainly not the cheapest and because the tube isn't user friendly and you end up using more of the product than you wish it probably isn't brilliant value for money but for me and anyone with sensitive skin then the pricing does become subjective as I personally would pay for The Weleda Citrus Creamy Body Wash as it is one of the very few products that doesn't leave my skin irritated.
Weleda's Citrus Creamy Body Wash looks refreshing and modern in its lime green bottle and I was instantly compelled to pick it up. I think citrus fruits work particularly well when it comes to bath and shower products as they give you that sense of being both clean and awake! I absolutely love the smell of this body wash, which, for once, is better than you expect and not at all fake or overpowering. When I squeezed some out of the tube, I did rather expect it to be green - or possibly yellow - and clear, but it is in fact white and opaque. This is no bad thing; in fact, it adds to the product's authenticity, and I personally don't like brightly coloured shower gels and shampoos that look utterly false. This is, after all, quite a natural product.
Whilst the body wash has a nice feel to it, it may disappoint those who like products that lather well and produce a mountain of bubbles. This certainly does not do that. In fact, you probably need to use a little more than usual or perhaps use something like a sponge to make the product go further. Natural products, of course, tend not to be so bubbly since they don't contain the necessary chemicals, but a little lather would have been nice. Again, the smell when you're using the body wash is refreshing, yet subtle. You definitely get the feeling that you're using something natural.
This product is made with vegetable-based cleansers and essential oils, and is "free of synthetic fragrances, colours, preservatives and raw materials derived from mineral oils", making it an excellent choice for those with sensitive skin. Unfortunatey, I have thrown away numerous products because of skin irritation, but this one is so gentle and it does leave your skin quite soft. If, like me, you want a safe and effective, natural product that you can use every day, I think this is a great option. If, however, you are looking for something that feels luxurious and indulgent, I would have to recommend you use something else, since it doesn't really provide that "pampered" feel.
The only thing I find off-putting about Weleda's Body Wash is the price. At around £6.95 for 200ml, and given that you need to use a reasonable amount of it compared to some products, it doesn't seem to be brilliant value for money. Still, those of us with sensitive skin cannot - it seems - be picky.
