I spend a lot of time on my feet a lot and they do get hot and uncomfortable and often need a bit of TLC. I was given this foot balm as part of a present from my daughter which was a box full of creams and toiletries which she knew I would like. I had not really heard much about Weleda products before so this was the first time I had used any of their products. There was also a Weleda eye cream in the box but I have not yet used this. This foot balm came in a blue box and the tube is the same shade of bright blue with a white cap. It has the words Weleda and the logo on the tube and it says 'foot balm' and 'refreshes tired feet' all in white.
It is only 75ml in size and I did think it was quite small when I first opened it but you really do only have to use a tiny amount each time. It is quite a thick firm cream and it feels very smooth to the touch without feeling greasy. I would say that a pea size blob is enough for each foot as it is so rich and velvety that it seems to rub all over without missing any bits. I find that it absorbs into my skin quickly and I have put socks or tights on more or less immediately after using it and my feet have never felt slippery or greasy and I have never had any residue on any of my clothes.
The ingredients include astringent myrrh extract and calendula extract which helps to soften your hard skin which I do suffer from. From time to time I will go to a chiropodist and have it removed professionally but it always seems to come back again and is unsightly. Obviously at this time of year my feet aren't on show so much but I don't usually wear socks in the house so I can see them. It also includes kaolin which helps your feet to stay and feel dry, and organic olive oil which helps to keep your skin smooth. It has essential oils of lavender, rosemary and sweet orange which help to deodorise and freshen your feet, and I would describe the smell as sweet and fruity.
It has been dermatologically tested, is suitable for vegetarians and contains no synthetic chemicals which is something I like. I will rub it all over my feet paying special attention to my heels and the side of my big toe which is where my skin is the hardest and driest. My feet really do feel cool and moisturised pretty much straight away and if I use it in the morning this feeling stays for quite some time during the day. I would say that my preferred time to use it is at night especially if my feet are aching as it really does help to reduce the aching feeling and helps me to relax. I think that this is from the essential oils which go deep into your skin.
As this was a present I don't know how much it was but you can get it online from Weleda for £7.87 and Amazon for £10.50, so it is very expensive, however it really is a lovely cream. I don't use it every day, probably two or three times a week, so would estimate that at this rate it will last about six months or so, so if you work out what it costs weekly it really isn't too bad. Although it doesn't completely get rid of your hard skin it does soften it and makes your feet feel refreshed and revived, which is a lovely feeling, and it does seem to prevent hard skin building up so much. I highly recommend this cream for a bit of TLC for your feet as it leaves you feeling refreshed and pampered.
Thanks God, I don't have any problem with my feet (I mean bad smell or sweating) but saw this cream in my favorite store and as I'm quite curios and adore this brand, I decided to buy it... In fact bought it first for my cousin as a gift but he decided not to use it as he doesn't really appreciate or use natural skin care brands...
Anyway, having it in and wanting to treat my dry skin, decided to use it at least to see how it works... This non-greasy cream is conceived to instantly cool, moisturize and helps nourish dry feet keeping the skin supple and soft. The non-greasy texture helps you to keep feet soft and comfortably dry, using a refreshing combination of essential oils cools and leaves a pleasant subtle aroma on the skin.
I must admit that this cream is really pleasant to use... having a wonderful fragrance and leaving your feet dry and soft all day long... I've first tried it once and decided to use it on a daily basis as it softens the skin and leaves a pleasant fragrance.
Water (Aqua), Alcohol, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Lanolin, Magnesium Aluminium Silicate, Fragrance (Parfum)*, Commiphora Myrrha Resin Extract, Hydrolysed Beeswax, Sodium Beeswax, Calendula Officinalis Extract, Limonene*, Linalool*, Citronellol*, Geraniol*, Citral*, Coumarin* (* from natural essential oils).
As far as I'm concerned I don't have any problems with sweating, bad odors or something like this, then I can't really state if this cream could be good enough for this purpose but all I can say is that it softens, hydrates very well the skin and has a wonderful fragrance. Also noticed another thing, having a pair of shoes that I really love but they have a strange leather inner soles that smells a little bit weird, using this cream my socks doesn't smell weird as they usually do, they only have quite the same perfume as the cream, which is a very good point...
It works well and the perfume is really wonderful. I guess it will be a really interesting product for the warm season, because it cools very well your feet and leaves a refreshing sensation.
I've never been deluded by Weleda products until now and this products is really great for a basic usage.
