The Weleda Lavender Relaxing Bath Milk is available for GBP 12.95.
The bath milk is described as follows. "A long soak in our Lavender Bath Milk is the ideal therapy for mental exhaustion, over-stimulation and restlessness. Its harmonising action soothes body and mind, reducing tension and easing restlessness. A long fragrant soak in the evening, before bed, will help promote a peaceful night’s sleep."
The ingredients are Water (Aqua), Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Potassium Olivate, Glyceryl Oleate, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol.
The lavender fragrance is all natural, quite intense and I can not smell anything else out further, although probably still Citrus and Olive will be in it, according to the declaration. For me, it smells just by lavender flowers! Namely, very intense. The bath does not foam, it is more so a milky bathwater. The oil is then after draining the water, so at least in my dosage regimen, also on the shell surface and makes it very smooth. The scent and the silky skin alone are a reason for me to prefer this bath additive. But the skin tolerance was always very good with me. Also, this bathroom is packed in a nice, very dark blue-violet thick glass bottle with screw cap. The glass is quite thick, so it certainly does not break if it should accidentally slide down into the tub from the tub edge times. All in all, a lovely bath to relax for people who appreciate the natural and very intense lavender - especially if you already know while bathing, that afterwards not necessarily even need to apply cream! There is the bathroom also in several other fragrances, which are composed basically the same, but my favorite is lavender!
I like Weleda products and will buy them if I feel like a treat for myself and will also give hints out around Christmas and birthday times. I was actually bought this Weleda Lavender relaxing bath milk as a Christmas gift but have only just started to use it as I think I was really keeping it for best. It comes in a purple box which contains a 200ml purple bottle of the bath milk with a white screw top.
I find that you only need to pour the equivalent of a capful into a bath which doesn't seem very much but it really does go an awful long way. I will usually tip the milk in under a running tap as I find that this seems to spread it through the water quickly. As soon as you tip it into the water you get a rush of lavender fragrance which is really sweet and floral. The liquid itself is a white milky colour and when it first goes in the water it turn the water slightly milky but it then seems to spread out and the water becomes clear.
I can smell the smell on my body for a long time afterwards and also on my hair if I have put my head under the water. I can also smell it on my hair even when I have washed it with other shampoo and conditioner as the lavender fragrance seems to linger which is lovely. I would say that this is probably a womans product as I don't think many men will like to smell of lavender.
I have had a look online and this retails for around £12 although you can get it much cheaper from places such as Amazon. However having said this it really does last a long time as you use far less than cheaper brands so bath for bath it probably isn't much more expensive. I love this bath milk and look forward to having a bath so that I can use it and I hope to buy another bottle when I have finished this one.
I love the smell of lavender and I find that it is just so soothing and relaxing. I think that it is difficult to get something that has the natural smell and soothing quality of lavender in most body products but Weleda really manages to get the right amount of lavender in their bath milk to make it ultra soothing and relaxing.
I have bought a few different Weleda products from my local independent pharmacy but it can be difficult to find the products other places and the usual shops like Boot’s and Superdrug don’t stock it or if they do not in my local ones as I have never seen it there. It is a shame as the company deserves to be better known as they sell lovely things.
The lavender bath milk is perfect to use when you are tired or stressed and had a long day and want something to really relax both your mind and body.
The bath milk contains lavender oil in it and it is highly fragranced and as soon as you pour some in your hot bath you immediately get a sense of relaxation. The milk mixes with the hot water and the lavender steam starts relaxing you before you even get in the bath.
This is one of the most relaxing bath products that I have ever used and it smells so good. There is just something so relaxing about it that you can’t fail to feel relaxed afterwards. It is great to use as a de-stresser before bed to get you in the mood for sleep. I wouldn’t use this before going out anywhere as it isn’t supposed to revive you but instead make you rested and relaxed and I think it does that.
Lying in a bath of this does feel quite decedent and you can tell it isn’t a cheap bath product as it feels so luxurious. It not only relaxes you but it also keeps skin feeling soft and doesn’t make it itchy. It is quite expensive but definitely worth buying if you suffer from insomnia or just even have trouble relaxing as it is gorgeous and really does relax you. It costs £12 for a 200ml bottle which isn’t big but you don’t need to use loads of it for it to work.
I often have trouble dropping off to sleep because I never seem to be able to relax. I often buy different lotions and potions to help in this area and after using and liking the Weleda Lavender Body wash, I thought the Lavender Relaxing Bath Milk would be worth a try.
About the product
The product promises to relax both the body and the mind before bed in order to allow you to fall into a peaceful sleep. It claims that it will calm an over stimulated mind to leave you feeling soothed and relaxed and ready for sleep using the aroma of Lavender.
How do you use the product?
The product should be poured into your hot running bath water. You need to fill the cap of the bottle about 3 times in order to get the desired results. You then simply climb in and enjoy. You can also use the product to fill the room with a relaxing scent by pouring some into a bowl of hot water.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a blue glass bottle which has a white cap that twists on and off. It is heavy and attractive but not the ideal material to make a bath product and out of. The product will cost you around £12 for 200 ml and it can be bought from department stores such as Boots and also from a range of online websites.
When you remove the lid, the product has a very strong aroma which hits you immediately. It is very obviously a natural aroma instead of one which has been artificially created. If it remained this strong, the aroma wouldn't be a nice one but it is more tame once it has been diluted. The product is a milk white colour and it has the consistency of an oil.
The glass packaging isn't ideal and it becomes slippery when you handle it with wet hands. It's definitely one that you will want to keep out of the reach of children. The liquid is obviously runny so you need to pour with care. I pour in the directed three cap fulls and although it makes the water slightly murky, it doesn't change the water to a milky colour.
With the door shut, the Lavender aroma does fill the air nicely and it is very detectable. The milk in the water is slightly noticeable but it doesn't make the water greasy or oily. It is a gentle product and it doesn't irritate the skin or make you feel itchy. The aroma is indeed very relaxing and I can feel it relaxing my mind and body after a stressful day. It doesn't become too overpowering or silky, and as long as the door is shut, it doesn't disappear to fast.
On leaving the bath, my skin doesn't really feel much different but there is certainly no greasy feeling left behind. It doesn't leave any residue behind in the bath or leave it looking unclean or slippery. The aroma doesn't really linger on my skin which was a bit of a disappointment. It really does leave me feeling relaxed and ready for bed and I love to use this at the end of a busy day.
All in all, this is a lovely and relaxing product to use at the end of a stressful day. It's easy to use and fills the room with the natural aroma of Lavender. It doesn't make you or the water greasy or oily and it doesn't leave the bath unclean or slippery. I really like this bath milk but I am knocking a star off for the rather ridiculous packaging.
WHAT IS IT?
Bath milk that is made by Weleda. It has got the scent of lavender so will be relaxing for you when you have a bath.
THE BATH MILK
This is a very runny milk so you have to be careful that you do not pour too much into the water or you will waste it. You need only a very small amount, mine came in plain sample package but if you buy the full size version you need to use one or two caps in a complete bath of water. It makes the water turn cloudy but does not make it go white or look dirty like some bath milks.
It smells very beautiful, the smell is of fresh lavender but it is a little bit sweet also and has got a little bit of a smell of violets. The smell is pleasing because it is not as strong as most lavender bath products and I am glad for that because lavender sometimes makes the air sickly if I am having a bath for a long time.
WHAT I THINK
I like the smell of this bath milk very much and I think it does help me to feel more relaxed after I have had my bath, but I think that bathtime is very relaxing anyway so I do not know if to believe claims like this. I do not have problems with falling to sleep so don't know if it helps in that way but I like the way that the lavender fragrance goes from my bathroom to the bedrooms because it is a nice soft smell to have in those rooms in the evening.
My skin does not feel softer after I have had a bath using this bath milk and that is a pity because I have used Weleda bath products before and they have moisturised my skin but this one does not. It does not make it feel dry but I have had to use body lotion as soon as I have dried myself and I think that is a pity also because the smell of lavender stays nice on my skin and I do not like that I have to cover it up with my fragrance from my lotion.
I think I feel clean when I bath using this milk, I do not get very dirty because I shower in the morning and when I take a bath it is so that I can relax not just to get clean. My skin feels refreshed while I am soaking and if I have got real dirt on me from the garden or playing with my children then I can see that it is easy to remove it using my sponge that has been soaked in the bath water.
It costs about £10 for a 200ml bottle of this bath milk but I do not think that is as expensive as it sounds because a bottle lasts for a long time. I would not want to use it every day because I like to have bubbles in my bath and think milky water is a little bit boring but it is nice to use sometimes.
