The Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Eye Cream is available for GBP 16.95.
The eye cream is described as follows. "Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Eye Cream contains high quality cold-pressed wildrose seed oil, peach kernel oil and almond oil, which strengthen the skin’s natural protective barrier and give the skin extra nourishment, thanks to their essential fatty acids. The skin is hydrated, soft and supple. Eyebright (euphrasia) plant extract has a soothing effect on the skin and, along with extract of sedum, eases irritation around the eyes."
The ingredients are Water (Aqua), Prunus Persica (Peach) Kernel Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Alcohol, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Rosa Moschata Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables, Sedum Purpureum Extract, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Euphrasia Officinalis Extract, Xanthan Gum and Sodium Beeswax.
It is here indeed Wildrose on it, but there was not helped along here with synthetic fragrance oil, this rose fragrance is really just very gently erschnupperbar and I'd recognize him even if I know what it is. Anyway discreet enough not to irritate the eye area because the thin, the skin immediately melting cream is very well tolerated by the skin. The cream put on my very dry skin very quickly, almost too quickly, I always had to hurry, that I got it distributed properly before the smooth rubbing and polka dots stopped going. It is also very economical, I've only small amounts needed and a sachet always sufficient for several applications. Since the surface after the drawing smooth but not greasy effect, applied makeup primer also keeps followed very well. The cream works in total light and fresh, almost too easy forth for my skin needs from the Texture. But who has not extremely dry skin, which I can recommend this moisturizing eye cream definitely. It smoothes and relaxes the eye area as well and in my opinion is a little better eye safe even.
My mum gave me this eye cream because she didn't like it, she's incredibly fussy when it comes to anything related to eyes and the area surrounding them so I happily took it off her hands and I've personally been very pleased with it so far. Eye cream is something that I use everyday because I never get enough sleep with work and my little one so I take the effort to look after the skin around/under them and my eyelids, but I do usually opt for quite cheap brands so it was a real treat to be able to try this eye cream.
This eye cream currently retails at £13.50 in Boots which is where my mum bought her tube of it from, this is for a very small amount of product (10ml) so in my opinion it is fairly pricy, but it is very luxurious and does what it claims to, so it's worth it. Also, a little bit goes quite a long way when used sparingly, so my tube should last for a while. I've had it for around a week now and have used it once a day, and my mum used it once and the tube still feels pretty full.
The tube comes boxed - it's just a normal little rectangular cardboard box and a bit of a waste of packaging, I threw it away as it was a waste of time putting it in and out of the box every time I anted to use the eye cream but it's a nice touch and helped reflect that the product is luxurious and not cheap! The tube that the eye cream comes in is squeeze and stands on its lid which is easy to pull off, the tube like the box is very girly as it's pink. It's easy to squeeze - a little too easy and if I squeeze too hard then loads comes out and obviously it can't be put back in the tube so be careful!
The first thing that I like about this eye cream is that it's unfragranced. I've got sensitive eyes so putting anything that's heavily fragranced is a no no for me, so I feel completely comfortable using this and I don't feel worried that it will irritate my eyes. The eye cream is white but sinks into my skin and doesn't leave any white streaks or anything which of course is good, and it has a lovely texture to it as it's thick but not too thick and really silky feeling and it melts into my skin effortlessly, I don't have to keep rubbing it in for ages. It doesn't leave any residue or greasy feeling and it's nice and light so doesn't clog my pores, it's the nicest eye cream ice used and very luxurious.
I use this on the skin around my eyes, my eyelids and under my eyes - only a tiny bit, it doesn't irritate them at all and it sinks in so quick that there's no risk of it dripping down into my eyes or anything and the texture is nice and thick not dribbly which is good. The eye cream leaves my skin feeling moisturised, smooth and cared for and my eyes also feel a little bit more refreshed but I don't get the same cooling sensation as I did with my previous eye cream which came with a roller ball, however this one is more luxurious and it keeps the skin feeling lovely and smooth and hydrated for ages and doesn't need reapplying. It fore everything that the manufacturers claim so I can't fault it, it's expensive but used carefully and sparingly it should last you a while as like I said my tube has been used around eight times now and it doesn't feel much emptier than it did when I first got given it. Recommended.
I have almost moisturised my skin daily since I was 16 and I'm hoping it has kept me looking youthful. When I am tired however, my eyes tend to give away my age so I bought the Wild Rose Smoothing Eye Cream by Weleda in a bid to keep tricking people!
What does the product do?
The product promises to both moisturise and nourish the delicate skin around the eyes using plenty of natural ingredients. It claims that it will strengthen the skin with Almond Oil and Peach Kernel Oil and with the additional benefits of Wildrose Seed Oil, the skin should be left looking healthy and feeling soft and supple. It promises to soothe the skin, reduce puffiness and reduce the appearance of fine lines to make you look more awake and refreshed. It is suitable for vegetarians to use and also for use by those who wear contact lenses.
How do you use the product?
The product should be applied to clean skin. You take a small amount from the tube and very gently pat the cream into the skin both above and below the eye. It can be used both morning and night.
Packaging and Price
The product comes contained within a small white and pink tube which has a white screw top lid. It is easy to dispense the product although a flip top lid may have been a bit more convenient. The cream will cost you around £15 for 10ml so it is a pricey product although you only use a tiny amount each time. It can be bought from department stores such as Boots and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is pure white in its colour and it has the consistency of a rich cream. The product is fragrance free and the product just smells fresh which I think is a good thing in an eye product as it makes it more gentle. As first, the size of the bottle is worrying when you think of the price but you don't need to use much of this in order to get the desired results.
The cream feels cool and comfortable on the skin. As you pat the product into the skin, it feels gentle and moisturising. Despite the richness of the cream, it is still easily absorbed so this isn't a long process. The product hasn't caused me any discomfort or irritation, although I do take great care not to get any in my eye as I imagine it would sting quite a lot.
The product doesn't make my skin feel greasy or unclean, and other than a healthy sheen, there is no telltale residue. It doesn't have any effect on my eye make up so I can apply it as usual. With continued use, my skin has become softer and more supple around my eye. It looks conditioned and there is no dullness or dryness anymore. My puffy eyes are reduces but that may be due to the patting action rather than the cream and I haven't notice any reduction on my fine lines.
All in all, this is a good eye cream which is gentle yet effective and makes the delicate skin around my eyes feel softer, comfortable and more supple. It does reduce the puffiness beneath my eyes making me look more awake and it doesn't affect the application of my eye make up. I can't say that I have noticed any difference in the fine lines around my eyes but other than that it lives up to all of its promises.
WHAT IS IT?
Eye cream that is made by Weleda. It says it will smooth the skin around the eye and keep it supple so that you can avoid sagging bags under your eyes.
HOW DO YOU USE IT?
You must cleanse your skin like you would usually and then dot little bits of the cream onto your skin. Massage it very gently into the skin in an outwards motion to encourage retained water to move from under the eye. You need to only use a very small amount for each eye and if you use too much you might make your skin greasy so you must take care.
THE EYE CREAM
The cream smells quite strong of rose and it is a sweet natural smell. I thought that it would be too strong in smell for round my eyes but it is not and does not make my eyes water or be sore. It is a rich cream but feels quite cool and light when I am rubbing it in, I like the texture and feel of it because it is not greasy and does not feel heavy at all on my skin.
DOES IT WORK?
The skin under my eyes feels very nice and soft when I have used this cream but I have not noticed that it is smoother just more moisturised. My eyes do not younger but the skin around them looks brighter and I am happy for that on days when I am not wearing make up because I know my skin looks fresh even without concealer.
WHAT I THINK
This is very nice eye cream and I like to use it, it smells beautiful and very feminine. I like to smell my finger tips after I have applied it because the rose is so beautiful. The cream is pleasing to use and the texture is luxurious, it massages into my skin easily and if I only use a small amount it dries to feel like my own skin instead of being greasy or shiny. I can apply my foundation straight away after only 2 minutes.
I do not have problems with the skin around my eyes and it has not started to show signs of ageing yet so I am happy with the cream being moisturising only without other effects. If I needed more help with my eyes I would want to use something that was more effective in changing the appearance of my skin.
A 10ml tube of Weleda Wild Rose Smoothing Eye Cream costs between £10 and £14. That looks like a lot of money but 10ml will last for a long time because you do not have to use very much for every application. I received mine as a free gift with other Wild Rose products after I signed up for a trade magazine subscription but I will buy another tube when I have used this one up.
