Disadvantages: top range lacks
This is my school instrument that I used daily from about the age of 14 til I was 18. It has been with me all over europe and most of scotland. The model in the picture with the silver finish is the best one to have because the lacquer finished model wears far too easily.
This instrument is very easy to use with range and precision not being a problem. You might want to change the mouthpiece though as it does make the upper register quite hard to achieve. The only main drawback I find is that while you are in tune on a C for example a lot of notes are wildly out of tune. This is partly the nature of the instrument and the fact I am quite inexperienced but I have used better instruments since which don't suffer quite so bad.
As for prices and things it has been a while since I got mine but they are not that bad compared to most and are well used in schools. This is a very able piece of equipment which would get my recommendation for purchase
Summary: a good beginner all rounder
