      allround good cornet

this is a brilliant cornet for what i would call the intermediate player, possibly performing at arougn the grade 6 standard. I would however admit that most teachers would call this a stepping cornet as it is too hard to 'fill' for the beginner but again has its limitations, tone quality is one of the most evdient limitataions this instrument has, and once the player has mastered the technique of breathing properly and effieciently will find it almost too easy to 'rasp' and produce a very harsh and ugly sound and so after this cornet would then move onto possibly the 'daddy' model of the yamaha cornets like the 8335g/ xeno or even onto a besson presitge etc this woul be the perfect cornet if you were starting up or restocking a music service and this would be you r main instrument but you also have the higher models as well as the lower models. the 'finger ring' trigger i found to very awkward to use effectively compared to the lever type as with the finger ring you have to manually return fullt inwards again
