I had come to the conclusion that a fridge is one of those things that no matter how big it was there was never going to be room for everything. This has changed my mind.
I admit that i was drawn to this purchase by the looks. I know this is dangerous but it was backed up by the reviews i read so i went for it!
I ... previously had an american style fridge freezer and found that a full length freezer was too big and often things went unnoticed for weeks months and sometimes even years at a time. The clever integration of a bottle cooler is excellent. It is motoriously hard to store botles in a traditional frdge but this solves that.
The design is sleek and there is no wasted space on ice machines this means that the space you see is what you get. The fridge has a variety of stainless steel attachments that can be moved around to suit your needs and with an adjustable temperature setting it refrigerates equally as well in summer as in winter.
its 162 litre fridge capacity provides enough space to ensure that it is never over full! It also has a low energy consumption and therfore a good 'B' energy rating. The fridge is also free of CFC gases which makes the fridge friendly to the environment.
The freezer has an automatic defrost so you dont suffer from icing up as is a problem with many models. It has 4 removable draws which makes it very straight forward to pack and unpack ypur items. For those people that freeze a lot of fresh food then it is useful to note that there is a 'quick freeze' option which speeds up the frezzing process and ensuring that a minimum amount of food quality is lost.
In the fridge section I have found that the salad compartment keeps sald fresh and crisp for well over a week which makes it easier to plan you menus for the week. This is helped by their super cooling circulation system. The rest of the frige consists of 6 glass shelves that easily wipe clean. one of these shelves splits into 2 meaning that you can easilly accomadate taller items such as fizzy pop in an upright manner rather than on their sides.
The wine cooler is constructed out of specially treated K glass. The thinking behind this is that it protects the bottled items from infrared and ultraviolet rays.
The running noise is virtually non existant, a very slight hum is eveident if you listen very carefully.
Overall a good looking, classy addition to my kitchen. Highly recomended. Read the complete review |

The fridge still makes me go wow. Sadly I'm temporarily renting and it stands as the focal point of the kitchen, but when I move back into my house it'll stand nicely amongst the new kitchen (I hope).
I decided to go for a stand alone f/freezer rather than an integrated as I had trouble with appliances in my last kitchen and ... was unable to match up the front for their replacements.
All aspects of the fridge are good, I love the wine cooler so much, it's my first and I just love it. For parties it's great I just stock it with that which is on offer (up to 40 bottles I think) and leave the more treasured bottle in a rack elsewhere.
I like having the freeze below, some of the other side-by-side with full height freezers made me think I'd put things in the top draws and never see them again.
As with all stainless steel bits and pieces they collect finger marks but its a small compromise. Another bonus: the manual tells me it's free of CFC gases, the fridge is environmentally sound, with 'A' rating for energy consumption! That's good to know. Read the complete review |

We were looking for a fridge-freezer to replace our old Hotpoint model, which served us well for twelve years, and this fridge freezer was about the same size and was a 'Which' best buy.
John Lewis were also offering a three year guarantee, which is not to be sneezed at. We find that if an appliance is faulty you normally ... find out before three years of use.
We were quite disappointed that we could not find a flat back model, which our old Hotpoint was, and which you could push back against the wall without the side view of the freezer coils. However, on the whole, this fridge freezer serves our needs and appears to work very efficiently.
The fridge area has three storage shelves, a Fresh Box for cheese, bacon and cooked meats etc. It has an enormous vegetable and salad box taking up about a quarter of the space and I would have preferred this to be smaller and an extra storage shelf.
The freezer has three drawers, although the bottom one is very shallow and does not fit much in.
A very good point is that it has an alarm to warn you if you leave the door open and the temperature starts to drop.
I ddo not like the inner door storage as much as my old Hotpoint. The shelves are very shallow and you have to store milk sideways.
I do think John Lewis should show a detailed picture of the inside layout of the appliance as this is an important area in the choice of a fridge-freezer. Read the complete review |
