Black tower wine has been around for a long time, and while it may have been popular in times gone by it has fell out of favour in recent years with people becoming slightly snobby in respect of wines. Although I had seen it in the supermarket many times I had never been tempted to buy it. I always thought the bottle was very striking and stood out on the shelves but I always erred on the side of caution and stuck to what I knew. However at a recent girls night in one of my friends brought a bottle of this along giving me a chance to finally give it a go. I must say I was pleasantly surprised; it is a lovely smooth and fruity wine, slightly sweet but not sickeningly so. I would go so far as to say that I found it to be a very refreshing drink.
I have now bought this quite a few times, having developed a bit of a taste for it. And there is always the added bonus that it is frequently on special offer in my local supermarket. I have noticed that there is a couple of different variation such as a Rose and a red so I may have to sample those also.
What else can I say, it's a lovely wine that is very pleasant to drink and isn't to expensive. What more could you want?
Summary: Great wine for the price.
