Blossom Hill Red Wine

I enjoy the odd glass of red wine on a weekend, whether it be on a night out or in my house in front of the television. I often buy Blossom Hill wines, both the red and white variety as I know they are reliable in taste and value and this red is no exception!

Blossom Hill

The Blossom Hill brand is owned by Diageo, who product a large range of spirits and wines for the worldwide market. The Blossom Hill range was launched in the 1980's and is one of the UK's most popular wine brands, if not the most popular.

Blossom Hill Red

Blossom Hill red wine is one of their 'Classic' wines. The bottle is a dark red/black glass colour, so much so that you can barely see the amount of wine left inside (if you are one of those people who don't finish the bottle - I am not one of them!). The label is quite small and plain, with the Blossom Hill branding written in large lettering and a red petal like background. There is a silver crest and band across the bottom of the bottle that states that this is a 'soft and fruity California' wine.

The wine is a rich ruby red colour once poured, with lovely rich berry scents coming through. You can also smell some slight spiciness in the wine, though this doesn't come through with the taste. As the name says - this is a soft and fruity red wine - that is very easy drinking. I do not like drinking overly dry red wines without having to wash it down with gallons of water, so this really suits my taste. This also goes well with lots of dishes, from pasta to meats.

The drink is rich and slightly sweet, but not an overly sweet taste. The berry fruitiness of the red wine is both bold and smooth to taste. I find this is a very reliable and tasty red wine that you won't be disappointed with for the price. I don't spend huge amounts of money on a bottle of wine and often find that bottles that are half price from £10 to £5 are often undrinkable, so for the same price or less I can get this without being dissatisfied.

It is not the most amazing red wine I have had, but for the price and easy drinkable-ness it gets four stars from me! These can be bought for around £4.99 a bottle and are also available in cases of siz for slightly less.

Summary: A good value easy to drink red wine
