Advantages: Sweet, refreshing, not too pricey

Disadvantages: Not the most sophisticated wine on the market

First of all, I must confess that I am not a wine buff, this review is the opinion of a mere enthusiastic amateur wine drinker!

Like a lot of people, when I buy a bottle of wine I'm looking for a compromise between it costing a week's wages or being so cheap it tastes like ribena and bleach. Blossom Hill is a good compromise, its not the cheapest or the most expensive wine I buy but a good middle ground that suits most occasions. Its currently about £6.50 in Tesco but is often on offer in various places.

Blossom Hill's white zinfandel is very easy to drink, its fruity and crisp and it goes down very easily, in fact a little too easily sometimes! It doesn't taste very strongly alcoholic so you can finish your glass before you realise you've started it, I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing! Its refreshing, and I always think white zinfandel is a good social wine for a girl's night in where everybody can just relax and enjoy something a bit sweet and a bit indulgent. It goes well with chocolate and gossip!

The bottle is unremarkable but reasonably attractive, it doesn't look like an obviously 'cheap' brand and has all the usual info about recommended units and so on.

I probably wouldn't serve this at a dinner party, but if its on offer its a good wine for a girly evening in or for those with a sweet tooth who aren't too fussy about their wine or about appearing to be a connoisseur!

Summary: Great for a girls night in
