Advantages: The lovely wine

Disadvantages: It's a little costly

Blossom Hill White Zinfandel - 750ml bottle prices range from £5 (Special offer at Sainsburys) to around the £6.50 mark in supermarkets so expect to pay a little more in smaller / local stores

It's 10% ABV

I'm a massive fan of the Blossom Hill white Zinfandel it's fresh fruity and light. For a long time it has been my favourite wine. Although to be fair I'm a fussy so and so. I'll only drink it if it's rose, as I find red, and white to be too bitter.

According to their website the wine has fruity tones of strawberry which seems to be a theme of rose wine - I have to admit I've never noticed the strawberry tones, but the wine is really fresh. This particular tipple leaves a nice after taste. The wine is also available in smaller individual glass sized bottles for those nights when you can't or shouldn't open a standard sized bottle.

It is to be noted that the product contains Sulphur Dioxide/Sulphites which can cause allergic reactions for some people. The wine is Californian - and it has to be said they know how to make a sweet rose wine.

I have to admit since becoming a student again I personally feel this wine is a little overpriced compared to some of it's competitors, and it is not put on special offer at supermarkets as often as it used to be, or as often as some of it's competitors.

For this it looses one star - but the contents are still exemplary.

Summary: It's worth trying other zinfandels that may be a little cheaper
