Ah Lambrini! It's wonderful stuff. This takes me back. We bought a couple of bottles of this last week as they were on offer in our Tesco's and drank the last one the other night. There's nothing more romantic as far as me and the other half are concerned, as downing a bottle of Lambrini apiece once we have got the little lad off to sleep. We bought two bottles for a fiver - cheap as chips. We love the bubbles in this stuff and my other half says that they seem to make her tiddly quicker!
We like the fact that Lambrini always comes with a great screw top lid. This means that we don't even have to stand up to unscrew the top. I simply lean over the side of our bed, reach for the mini fridge door, and lie back as my wife holds out two ice cold wine glasses and I do the honours. We love to lie in bed together on a Saturday night, watch a good movie and guzzle our way through this lovely bubbly stuff. The last one we tried was a cherry flavour Lambrini and it was very moreish.
Lambrini is, in my opinion, no good served at room temperature, it has to be well chilled and straight out of the fridge. The bubbles have the unfortunate effect of making us both burp for England, but hey, no-one's listening, are they? It's not too high in alcohol either so there's no way you're going to get drunk quickly on this stuff. You are far more likely to suffer from chronic wind first, I reckon.
It is an incredibly sweet tasting fizz, no matter which 'flavour' you pick, but I don't think it's at all sickly or too sweet. It has the perfect balance and I think this is a drink that has become severely underrated recently, due to it's unfortunate connotations with lads and lasses standing round on street corners and swigging the stuff from bottles.
I think if you haven't given Lambrini a go then you must try it - at least once.
