Lindemans are a primarily Australian wine producer, though they also sell wines from vineyards in South Africa and Chile. They produce several different wines from various grapes, and the prices tend to range from £6 - £12 but can often be found on offer. Sydney Cove Chardonnay for example quite often pops up in 3 for £10 offers which is a real bargain.
I personally enjoy their chardonnay wines, including the Bin 65 and the Sydney Cove. The Bin 65 in particular is a very well rounded, oaky, solid wine with great nose and goes down very well with food when served chilled. This comes in the standard 750ml bottle with a bright yellow label and a screw top (yes, screw tops are perfectly socially acceptable these days!). The Sydney Cove variety has a pale label and is not as oaked, and is fruitier and easier to drink, but is still a nice dry white and not too overpowering or sweet.
The semillon chardonnays are fruitier again and a bit lighter on the palate, not quite my thing but if you prefer a sweeter wine that might be the one for you.
Lindemans are a reliable wine producer, you know when you buy one of their bottles you are not going to get cheap and nasty plonk, and they have a bottle for any taste.
It's a brand I always look out for first in the supermarket when shopping for wine.
I am a big fan of white wine, it is my usual tipple. My 'make' of wine is
Lindemans is an Australian wine, which I discovered around 2 month ago.
The bottle of Lindeman's that I bought was called 'Early Harvest semillon' and it cost me £5.99 from my local shop, although I have seen this wine priced much higher elsewhere. This was quite a fruity white wine, which was ideal for me and friend as well all enjoy fruity wine. It was quite a light wine and did not taste cheap - like some other wine does.
The bottle was a standard green wine bottle, with a blue 'lid' and the usual Lindemans label on the side, it was quite distinctive and easy to spot in the supermarket.
I really enjoyed this wine the first time I tasted it and it is what I have drunk ever since, If you are a wine drinker and have not yet tasted this wonderful wine, pelase give it a go.
Lindemans is an Australian wine company which I rate as very good.
Australian wines are some of my favourite, particularly after having visited the hunter valley in south eastern Australia where many wines are made.
Most bottles of Lindeman's wine range from £5 (when on offer) to £10. They can be found in any supermarkets and many wine stores sell the brand aswell i.e. Threshers.
The nicest white wines I have tried from the Lindemans range include :
-the 'Cawarra semillon chardonnay 2006' which only cost me £6 not on offer at my local Somerfield supermarket. This wine has delicious fruit flavours and is the kind of wine you could drink on any occasion.
-the 'Early Harvest semillon sauvignon blanc 2007' which is crisp and refreshing and actually lighter in alcohol (9%) which has fresh fruit flavours and gives you a crisp dry finish. This you could also drink on any occasion.
I do particularly rate their semillon chardonnay's, they are very easy to drink!
So if you don't want to spend too much money on a bottle of wine I would definately recommend this brand as most of their wines are very pleasant and affordable.
A final quote from Dr Lindeman whom founded the wine company:
'the one purpose of wine is to bring happiness .'.
Their white wine does that indeed.
