“ Brand: Wither Hills / Type: White Wine „
WHAT IS IT?
A white New Zealand wine by Wither Hills.
This is a very dry wine even though it is classed only as a medium dry one, it is also quite tart as you drink with not very many sweet flavours. I can taste a bit of a watery flavour like melon in the aftertaste but that is only weak and the wine does not taste of very much at all for me. I think it has got a strong taste of plain wine and do not think it is very nice.
WHAT I THINK
My friend brought this bottle of wine to my daughters 7th birthday party yesterday and I didn't like it very much. It is too dry and that covers any flavours so that even though it tastes like good quality wine it is very boring to drink and the flavour is too strong and plain.
We drank our wine chilled and that made it crisp and refreshing, I saw with my second glass that it was a bit colder and tasted better like that. My husband had one glass and said it tasted of passion fruit and he is better than me at detecting wine flavours so I believe this flavour is in the wine and I have missed it.
The aftertaste doesn't last long and I am glad for that because I do not like the flavour of this wine and am glad that the taste goes quickly. I only drank 2 small glasses so did not feel any effect from the Sauvignon Blanc but it is 13.5% so you should be careful how you drink it.
Wither Hills Sauvignon Blanc costs about £10 a bottle and my friend bought this bottle from Tesco.
2 Dooyoo Stars.
Intense gooseberry, ripe herbal lime notes underpinned by the classically pungent melon, guava and passion fruit aromatics. A benchmark New Zealand Sauvignon and a beauty of a wine bursting with passion fruit.
