Oakley is renowned for its quality of lens and the Crowbar snow goggles definitely pass this test. I used the versatile VR-28 lens for the entirety of last season in the jet black version of the crowbar model and it definitely served me well.
The fit of the goggle is perhaps suited to a narrower face, consider the Splice model if your face is slightly wider. The ventilation at the top and sides of the frame provided good airflow into the google and helped prevent the lens from steaming up. The strap and frame is compatible with a helmet, as most goggles are these days. Another note on the goggle is its ruggedness, I definitely put it to the test and no parts loosened or broke and the lens did not scratch as easily as previous goggles I have owned.
In flat / low light the lens was still able to provide some contrast, although a yellow based lens (available for this model) would most likely be of more use. Equally on blinding, bluebird days the lens did struggle with some glare and a dark grey or fire polarised lens (also available for this model) would be of better use. Outside of the extremities of the conditions, the lens performed well and dealt with the varying light conditions throughout the season and provided good contrast over a selection of terrains.
