Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter
by danwright112
If you have an older model Xbox i thoroughly recommend you purchase one of these wireless adapters as it will allow you to gain access to online play. It is very reliable and only requires one purchase even if you use a different console at some point (once at a time). From my experience i would say that it is a very good piece of ... equipment that any gamer should purchase if they can, it is relatively small meaning that it doesn't take up any room (attaches to the 360), it provides good connection most of the time as long as you have good internet connection.
However there are a few negatives. It is in my opinion, extremely overpriced for what it is and you would think since the release of the new model they would have made it a lot cheaper than it currently is, but as far as I'm aware this isn't the case. I don't know about other people's experiences but i have a good internet connection with multiple devices connected and sometimes for an unknown reason i just couldn't connect when these other devices could (which is very frustrating if you want to play online with your friends).
If you were looking into getting one, as i said i would suggest that you do as it is a very essential piece of technology for good online gaming. However suggest a better alternative by getting a new model if you can (trade in old one or something) as it has a built in one and doesn't require a separate purchase.
If you decide to buy one, just make sure you shop around as you can maybe save yourself some money. Read the complete review |

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless N Networking Adapter
by lambchop83
I have had an XBOX 360 Elite console for years, it's one of my favourite things, and when everything went 'wireless' I felt really left out, especially when the new slimmer console was released. I had a perfectly good console sitting there with 120 GB memory and I didn't want to trade it in or upgrade, spend a lod of money for the new ... model which was basically the same thing - but with wifi built in, I couldn't justify it.
Nor actually could I justify spending £50 for this device, I tried shopping for a used one on ebay, but they were still expensive - so I asked for it as a Christmas present :)
So I received one as a gift, along with a Gold Membership for a year - fantastic. So now I have cloud storage for my saved games, so I can go to my partner's, take my game and carry on there!! Also there's facebook access and chat and messaging.
I'm not really one for co-op xbox live gaming with strangers online - but I do play against friends and that's really cool.
If you have a sky account you can also watch via your xbox, unfortunately I have Virgin Media so can't use this. There's also Love Film and lots of digital catch up channels such as 4OD.
The unit itself is small and fairly unobtrusive and connects via USB, luckily I had one spare as I use the other at the front of the console for my USB controller charger. The unit has two feet that swivel to enable it to stand.
I am glad that I eventually for this contraption, as it saved me having to needlessly upgrade to a new console when my old xbox elite is perfectly good. Read the complete review |
