I bought one of these about 7 years ago so I could stop having to plug in a cable to my laptop to get on the internet. It took a while to set-up, but it is all done by an on-line guide that is easy to follow. You also have a way of getting into the set-up of it to correct any problems with your internet service provider even if you are not able to access the internet (but you will need help from your ISP to change any settings).
It is small enough to store on a windowsill, which is where ours is, but you don't have to have it near a window for it to work. It has a very wide range, as ours is downstairs and we can use it upstairs or in our conversatory.
We are really pleased that even after 7 years, it is still working very well with no problems - all the problems have always been through the fault of the ISP, not the router.
Very affordable as well, bought ours from PC World for about £30.
