The WAP-1001 supports AP/ AP Client/ Bridge/ Repeater multiple operation modes. By setting this device into the AP client mode, it can provide any Ethernet device with instant wireless networking capabilities by placing Ethernet devices anywhere to enable interoperability among wireless network and Ethernet devices. The Repeater mode operation can repeat wireless signals from AP to wireless clients thus extending the WLAN range. There are two different approaches to Bridge modes: point-to-point, which allows to bridge network between two remote locations; and point-to-multiple point, which is normally used for business ISPs, warehouse connections, campus overages and last mile applications.

Security is the most important issue for wireless connections. In addition to providing basic security control by using ESSID and 64/128/152-bit key length WEP encryption, this access point also supports such advanced security features as WPA-PSK and WPA to provide enhanced level of security, MAC access filtering and ESSID broadcast disable function to protect your network from unauthorized access.

The WAP-1001 features IP66 rated watertight and weatherproof metal housing to avoid water invasion and weather corrosion, thus making it ideal for outdoor installations. The built-in POE function allows you to reduce power cable and adapter expenses and increase location options while deploying wireless outdoor AP installation anywhere. All configuration and maintenance of this AP can be done with a web browser through the web-based management interface.
With features including low cost, low power consumption, high security and good wireless coverage, WAP-1001 allows service providers or enterprises to deploy WAN or LAN rapidly for their customers.
