What is The Linksys Wireless Adapter?
The linksys Wireless adapter is a Usb Device which plugs into a usb port on your computer, and it enables you to connect to long distance wireless base connections.
I bought the Linksys wireless adapter after a constant number of tries to connect to the internet at high speeds when 2 floors up from the wireless O2 box. Then even though Windows XP should have Wi-fi enabled - apparently it is only accesible via USB Network Adaptor.
So I went down to my local PC world and the man recommended to me this USB Network Range Booster, and after 7 months of using the Linksys Wireless adapter ,I have not yet once found out a problem.
The installation process is fairly simple, plug in the USB and away you go. Also the Usb that comes with the Linksys adapter works with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. Also the size of it is about 7 cm long and rougly 8 cm wide
So it is portable if you may ever need to take it elsewhere.
Also With a lot of modern devices there are 5-10 wires with the product and it complicates certain problems such as portability and the wires may be quite complicated with regards to the installation process.
This is not a problem with the Linksys Wireless Adapter as the adapter has one wire, one side connects to the computer, the other to the computer.
It does have one or two flaws to it though, firstly the manufacturer's Seal is on the Side, and it clearly states that ' if this seal is removed or broken, the product warranty will not be valid '. So therefore If you have got children or if you intend to place it at a low height where supossedly children can reach, then I would not recommend this.
However If you did have the same problem as me then this is a delightful bit of kit, It is very Reliable and does the job day in day out.
Also it stops the trouble of having to go to your local library or wi-fi spot just to access internet facillities.
