Linksys Wireless-G PCI Card WMP54G ... i have not purchased one for myself but for a neighbour who i installed it for. It worked fine, i had it install within a couple of minutes and the drivers installed very soon after that, picks up the wireless signal well. The only bad point about this is that it has a rather large aerial on it, this isn t really a problem but can get in the way of other cables, but as long as it picks the signal up fine it doesn t really matter. We where looking for a standard solution (different providers where supplying different MODEMS), some sort of firewall protection (we use Windows 2000 as our standard operating system and unlike XP this does not have a built in firewall) and finally some users expressed an interest in having home WiFi access. The product most likely based on features and price was the Linksys WAG54G.Therefore this review has turned out to be more of a comparison of the two than just on this one product and a lot of the information provided very similar to that in the previous review. You ll get 200Mhz processing power (integrated broadcom solution) which should be of a great use since this box can be programmed to do almost anything if you are familiar with linux and crosstool compiler. 4MB Flash memory can be used for a new upgrades/option since this box gets upgraded almost all the time with new security and functionality. LINUX BOX This device is actually a small linux box. You can telnet to it and process linux commands. Since it s GPL ed you can also download a full source and compile it for yourself.
