Advantages: Works

Disadvantages: Too expensive

Playing games online has become increasingly popular over the last few years, and some consoles are better suited to connecting to the internet than others. The Xbox 360 has an input for an ethernet cable to allow online play via a wired network, but disappointingly it doesn't feature an internal wireless adaptor - and that's where the Microsoft 'Wireless Networking Adapter' comes into play.

At £55 from Amazon (previous price £75), the adaptor is incredibly expensive for something that should be included free with the machine (the less powerful Wii has wi-fi built in).

The adapter is easy to set-up - you just plug it into the USB port at the back of the console and then enter your wireless settings / password into the Xbox360's dashboard, and away you go. Basically this piece of equipment allows you to do everything your Xbox360 would be able to if you had the machine connected to the internet via an ethernet cable.

The performance of the Networking Adapter is very good, and so far I haven't experienced any problems. Streaming speeds seem to be at a decent level, and the signal strength seems to be strong throughout the house.

In conclusion, although this product works as it should, the price is ridiculously expensive for what is essentially a piece of plastic with an antenna sticking out. I can't possible give it more than three stars due to the fact that it's something which, in this day and age, should come as standard with the machine.
