Advantages: Small, fits in nicely with xbox, works well, easy set up, reliable connection.

Disadvantages: Price - should be halved!

I have been meaning to buy one of these for ages but at £60 I felt they were a bit of a rip off, especially as Microsoft really have the monopoly on them. Unfortunately, I am moving house soon and the xbox will be in a different room altogether so I was forced to buy one yesterday. I actually managed to find a really good deal in Game - it was £39.99 when purchased with anything else in the shop. My boyfriend was buying games anyway so I thought why not? Incidently, this is about the same price they go for secondhand on ebay so if you are looking to buy one of these, go to Game.

The adapter is very compact and fits in with the overall look of the xbox 360. It has a really short cable which you plug into the back of your xbox (next to where the internet cable would normally go) and it has two small clips which clip it neatly onto the back of your console. This means that from the front of the xbox, all you can actually see of the adapter is the little aerial thing pointing up which I think is a great idea. They obviously thought these things through when designing the console and all the bits that go with it as everything I seem to add to my xbox just becomes an extension of it, rather than some lump hanging off it/connected to it.

I thought it might be a bit of a faff to set the wireless up on the xbox but actually, I was very pleasantly surprised. I plugged it in and unplugged the wired internet connection. Straight away, it popped up with a message saying I couldn't connect to xbox live and would I like to test the connection. I went on the test connection screen, and from there, there was an option to set up the wireless.

It detected my wireless network straight away and then asked for the WEP key (which luckily for me is printed on the bottom of the router!). After entering this, I tested the connection and voila - it was working perfectly! The whole process took about 2 minutes tops and after doing that, I could play online straight away.

Overall, I am really impressed with this adapter for the xbox. I have had no problems with my connection dropping or anything, it has been perfect. I think at £60 it is too expensive but at £40, it is a lot more reasonable (although £29.99 seems a better price to me!). If anyone is having problems with wires running throughout their house then I would recommend they get themselves to Game and treat themselves to one of these.

Summary: A great addition to my xbox 360 - don't regret buying it for a second.
