Advantages: Easy to set up and works well

Disadvantages: Range no better than standard netgear router (in my set-up)

Bought one of these to replace the standard router that comes with Sky broadband, having read the blurb on the box about it using MIMO technology to enhance range and reception. Was otherwise happy with the previous DG834G Sky had provided and have always favoured netgear network stuff for its ease of operation and reliability. Once I`d got my username and password out of the DG834G (no easy task, although that`s sky`s fault rather than netgear`s) set-up was as easy as I expected (ie nigh on automatic). Disappointed with promised increase in range and reliability though, really couldn`t see a great deal of difference to be honest. And those irritating flashing blue lights on the top had to go - luckily a menu option enables them to be turned off. This has the usual netgear web interface, and supports all the usual firmware upgrades, port-forwarding etc that you`d expect. You can also remotely access the router from anywhere on the net. I have recently changed my provider to Be Internet and had the misforune of trying to set up their free thomson speedtouch modem that the send out, which really reiterated to me how good this netgear product is ( having ditched the thomson and gone back to my tried and trusty netgear)

Summary: Good 108mbps wi-fi router.
