A wireless router combines two different aspects of a network - a router (thymes with 'hooter', not ''shouter') and a wireless access point. A router allows you to connect more than one computer to your network. Normally these are connected to the router with wires, and a network card in each PC. A wireless access point allows computers with wireless cards to connect to the router. A wireless router (obviously) does both.
