Advantages: very speedy internet, external signal booster, test button.

Disadvantages: None!

On our package for Virgin Broadband we got this wireless router free. I was quite happy as I had used Netgear products before and been quite happy overall.

This router was easy to set up once I got it out of the box. It has a 4 point switch for your Ethernet cable - the cable you connect to the modem and router - so it can be stretched far apart from the modem. Once on, it flashes green on the "On" button, the "test" button light is in the shape of a tick and will turn green once everything is set up and working.

It works with Windows Vista, which I have on my laptop and comes as Windows Vista certified so that you know with a surety and confidence it will work. It comes with an external antenna with boosts the signal. I have never had any problems from set up to now with this router and would definitely recommend it.

It comes with a firewall that stops the network from intruders and also with a URL filter and address authentication. As I'm not an expert with the technological side of things, this is all I know about :).

If you get stuck setting it up, it also comes with an easy to follow instruction manual (nothing like an Ikea set-up here!). We have two computers linked to this router and never had a problem with speed of downloading, uploading or getting onto the Internet - I'd happily recommend this router to anyone shopping around for one.

Summary: one to buy for those on the look out for a router.
