Netgear DG834GT 108 Mbps Super Wireless ADSL Router ... was my first purchase as a tech newbie, and I decided to put my trust in a brand with a good reputation. I conducted extensive research into routers, and found that as our internet was supplied through orange (formerly wanadoo) I would need to purchase a modem/router which had ADSL capabilities. Upon opening the box there were a few bundled items to help get you all set up with your internet connection. These items included; 2 Micro filters to separate the phone line into audio/data, ADSL cable, Ethernet cable, install cd, warranty card and dc/ac power supply. Netgear DG834G 54 Mbps Wireless ADSL Firewall Router ... bought the netgear gd834g router a few years ago now and it was a brillant little device. Firstly, it is a nice size, it is not massive but it is very robust making it very hard to brake. It also looks good to, it has a sleek white design which looks great alongside an apple computer and a very clear display of lights. In total the router has 8 display lights, one which shows the power, a tick to show its loading up a disabled light, wireless projection and another 4 which show how many computers are plugged into it. Netgear DG834G 54 Mbps Wireless ADSL Firewall ... wireless router is a decent router at a very cheap price. It has quite a lot of features for a basic wireless router, including a built-in switch, modem and firewall. The router has 4 ports for wired connection and can support up to 253 devices on it. Each wired port advertises speeds of roughly 200Mbps, and wired devices have a top speed of 54Mbps. I have found copying files over the network is quite slow, but downloading files from the net and opening web pages is on par with the wired connection.
