I purchased this router for work. I basically went for the cheapest one I could find because all I need form a wireless router is for it to work! I have set up the router in a downstairs basement, in an old building, down about 13 steps and around a corner.
I have never had any problems at all with the range or strength of the signal. My laptop easily picks the signal up upstairs with about 4/5 bars of strength. With my mobile phone I can pick up the signal outside of my work which is a long way from the router but it still works well. The only downside of this is that offices and residential buildings next door could pick up the signal but it seems to be very secure and has a lot of safety features. No one has hacked into it as far as I am aware!
The router comes with a quick installation CD and I found it very easy to install. I have used wireless routers before so had a bit of a background but I do feel that it still would be easy even for a complete novice. The only problem, as with most computer items, is there are a lot of technical words that could trouble people.
This is a very simple yet cheap wireless router. It does exactly what you would want. The signal strength and distance is more than I would have expected.
