Bioshock (Xbox 360) ... is something of a rarity, a first person shooter in which, for me, the shooting was less interesting than the exploration of the environment and delving into the plot. The game is set in the 60s and begins with the player on a plane looking at a photo of his family before there is a crash, leaving the player stuck in the middle of an ocean with only a rapidly sinking plane for company. Fortunately, what looks like a nearby lighthouse offers refuge and, upon entering you are welcomed to the world of Rapture. The Darkness (Xbox 360) ... Darkness is an FPS set in new york with a plot revolving around a gangster who gets double crossed, so far, so generic. But the darkness twist is in the title, the lead character gets possessed by the darkness and must utilise his new skills to take the advantage in fire fights against enemies. These powers are levelled up as you progress and soon enough you are throwing around cars with your demon arms and unlocking doors that are impassable to begin with. You feed you demon appendages with felled enemies hearts, and the first time you see this animation, it sets the tone for what is to come, you leave the new york streets for a stint in WW1, finding out about the h... Bioshock (Xbox 360) ... Xbox 360 may have an abundance of first person shooters available to play, however once in a while you come accross on that stands out. this is the case for bioshock. Having heard good things about the game i picked it up for the bargain price of £15 brand new in the zavvi sale recently. The game has all the elements of a great first person shooter. Great controls, fantastic graphics and exciting action. However what really makes bioshock stand out is the storyline. A fantastic plot unlike no other, with its many twists and turns is a delight to play through for its 15 hour (ish) stretch and leaves you wanting more at the end.
