Halo 3: ODST (Xbox 360) ... me first start off by saying that I was an incredibly massive Halo 3 fan - I would even go so far to say that it played a major role in my life, and at one point I was even MLG standard for the Halo 3 online for those who are clued in. So then, naturally when I heard about the new release of ODST by Bungie I rushed to get it, ignoring the various doubts that surrounded the new Bungie title. Let me start off by saying that when I first launched the campaign I was really excited, the city of New Mombassa looks great, and the night vision goggles just look plain awesome. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Xbox 360) ... Warfare 2 - possibly the most highly anticipated and overhyped game of the decade, maybe even all time? However, the question on everyone s mind is, does it live up to the hype? Lets start off with the single player campaign, Modern Warfare 2 has a singleplayer campaign that is reminiscent of the previous COD4 - Modern Warfare. In terms of game formula, they don t really stray too far from the style and set up of Modern Warfare, but hey, if it isn t broken then why fix it? Half-Life 2: The Orange Box (Xbox 360) ... on from the classic Half life, Half life 2 continues the story of mute, geeky scientist Gordon Freeman. In Half life 2 and it s additional episodes, Gordon Freeman fights his way thorough City 17, a fictional East European city annexed by the Combine, a pan dimensional alien force that assimilates other species into it s civilisation. Key to the combines grip on humanity, is the collaborator Dr Breen, who knew Freeman from the previous games Black Mesa laboratory. Many characters return, like Barney the security guard, now an undercover spy for the Resistance. The voice acting in Half life 2 is exemplary and does a lot to enhance the experience.
