Advantages: Great games, lots of choice, can be played from disc or installed to hard-drive.

Disadvantages: Don't like one or two of the games a lot.

Arcade Unplugged Volume 1 brings you a selection of games from Xbox Live which are all contained within one disc so you can play them without having Xbox Live or you can download the games from disc on to your Xbox Hard Drive and then not have to worry about using the disc in the future (although this does take up around 4gb of space).

It works out much cheaper to buy the games on this disc than to download them with Xbox Live Gamer Points and as I picked up a brand new copy of this game for around £8.00 (even cheaper on Ebay now) I was very pleased with myself.

The games on the disc are as follows:

Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved - This is a very old fashioned game and will be quite nostalgic for some people as you shoot your way through space. There are a few different versions of the game available on this disc including "retro" and "evolved" and this is quite a fun game although I don't appear to be very good at it unlike my other half who is rocking the leader board right now in our house!

Wik: Fable of Souls - There are over 120 levels on this game and you will have to use your characters tongue to work your way through them collection bugs, honey and completely miscellaneous timed challenges. I thoroughly enjoy this game and it's one that I've mastered quite well being able to get a fair few levels in and I think I am on around level 50 at the moment but I'm getting there slowly but surely!

Bejeweled 2 - This game is one that some people may already know the name of because it's also available in various other forms such as PC and online on Facebook. You have to group gems in 3 or more of the same gem to remove them from the grid and as the game progresses there are various other things that you have to try and complete as well. This game is very addictive and I could happily sit on the XBox playing this for a whole afternoon.

Outpost Kaloki X - This is a strategy game in which you have to build and maintain a power station with miscellaneous shops & services. This game is quite complex and the early decisions that you make will shape whether you win the game or not. This is quite a fun game but it doesn't have much time from me because I get bored of it quite easily and it becomes too monotonous.

Hardwood Backgammon - This is the classic game of backgammon and you can play online, against a friend at home or just on your own. I never play this game so can't give much experience on this one, sorry.

Texas Hold 'Em Poker - Here you start with a set amount of money and can play online with Xbox Live, complete scenarios or simply play against the computer to try and build up your money. This is by far my favourite game on this disc and the one that I play pretty much everyday I am near the XBox.

There are also some other demos on this disc but I never play any of these so I'm not able to comment much on these. One of the main reasons that I play the above games is because 5 of them (except backgammon) help me to earn gamer points and I am trying to get my score a little higher ready for when we get broadband at my fiancé Tom's house and can go on XBox Live.

This game is great value for money and I thoroughly enjoy the majority of the games, I would definitely recommend purchasing this even if it's just for the poker alone as it's currently available for around £8.00 from shopto.net or on Ebay for around £5.00 + postage. I am rating the game 4/5 as the majority of the games here are great.

Summary: A fantastic disc full of games that keep me entertained for hours.
