Bladestorm The Hundred Years War was one of the first games that I got with my Xbox 360, I paid about £25 for the game brand new which I thought was very good value as I have had lots of gameplay from it. When I got the game I expected it to be a bit like Dynasty Warriors although the game is made by the same people and graphically looks like it the game is nothing alike. The game is hard to get into as the game is confusing to begin with and the tutorials are not that good, which is the main let down of the game and you find yourself doing trial and error pretty quickly but once you get into the game it is worth it.
The game is loosely based on The Hundred Year war between England and France in the 14th and 15th Century although the makers has changed a few things to make the game more playable and to add different options to the game like you can save Joan of Arc for example. You play as rogue commander who commands a bunch of mercenaries and you can align yourself to either England or France.
You can also choose for each mission which side you will fight for so you can either side switch or play one side than play again as the other side. You only control your own character but you have to deploy the other soldiers under your command to an area of the battleground. You command a wide variety of different types of units like normally infantry and cavalry through to elephants and archers, as the game progresses and your reputation increases the amount of soldiers under your command increases as well as their skill.
Game Play - Good Story well written with good scenes and fun to play
Graphics - Good Graphics
Difficulty - Hard controls to learn and use as you have to move your character and order your troops at the same time. The AI is also pretty good and the game takes a lot of practice to complete.
Summary: hard to get into but worth it
