First downs are awarded at 30 yards as opposed to 10 yards in a conventional football game. Penalties do not exist and there is no refereeing. A "Clash meter" is a key part of the game. Once it is charged it allows the player to make quick dodges, big hit "dirty" tackles and "dirty" stiff arms. This adds a new turn to the conventional Madden games which means it excels Madden in some ways.

Blitz - The League is an American Football game for Xbox 360. It contains fictional teams and on the surface would appear extremely inferior to the popular Madden games. There are far fewer options for plays than Madden which can make gameplay boring and repetative. However, Blitz - The League gives the player better point-of-view gameplay.
