Take me down to a Paradise City...

Burnout Paradise is the latest installment of the highly succesful Burnout series, representing the brand in the so called 'next - gen' era (PS3, X360 & PC). Once again, Burnout Paradise is developed by Criterion games, who I personally can't say a bad word about.

On my birthday, to my surprise, I opened my 360 ad there was copy of Burnout Paradise there "Damn, no Call of Duty". Those thoughts quickly diminshed 20 minutes later after I set my Xbox up and put this game in the disc drive. I was met with highly detailed graphics and beautiful scenery throughout 'Paradise City', from the crisp, blue sea to the bustling city to the peaceful mountain side, it had it all. When you wreck, not only is it enjoyable to see the path of destruction your now battered car will take, but the graphics of the damge is stunning and not a piece of smashed up car to be missed. Oh, did I forget to mention, I'm playing on an SDTV, I can only begin to dream to imagine it on HD *drools*...

The sounds that your car makes as roars along the bridge is oh so sweet, as are the sound effects when smash into buidling! But, the greatest 'audio' feature of the game has to be the one, the only, DJ Atomika! Giving frequent updates as to what's happening around Paradise City, and the occasional hilarious one-liners, he has become well - reknowned in the world of Burnout.

Onlnie is a bunch of laughs too, whether you are trying to complete the challnges or just freeburning, trying to take each other out, there is hours of entertainment at your fingertips (or should I say in the palm of your hands) But, if you do plan on heading online, make sure you have some mates to play with, as, if I'm brutally honest, people who don't know are quite what boring online.

In a nutshell, if you are looking for a driving game for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 (or even your trusty old PC), look no further - Burnout Paradise is THE driving game.
