This is the only game I can say that I have been able to play consistently over the last 6 years since its release. There are very few games that last one or two years yet alone 6 years! I have amassed over 75 days of game play in the online aspect of this game. There are many game modes and playing styles that you will be able to use. This is what makes the game enjoyable for me. Once you find a gun and class setup that suits you and practice for many hours you'll soon be dominating online! The only downside to playing online is the fact that some of the players that also play online are children who aren't at a suitable age to be playing this game. Some of the players also use the 'overpowered' guns and classes in this game which ruins the experience. They will use these guns and scream down the mic using the in-game chat to tell you how bad you are and how they have a relationship with your mother.
There is also a co-op campaign and single player aspect to the game but very few Call of Duty players take notice of these. A fun challenge is to try and complete the co-op campaign online or with a friend on the hardest difficulty!
If you want a first person shooter game to play then this is probably the one for you. This in my opinion is the definitive Call of Duty and is on par with Call of Duty 4 for being the best call of duty of all time. If you are a novice in the first person world then this is the game that you should be playing to start you off! Have fun and don't noobtube!
Modern Warfare 2 is one fun game. It has great multiplayer and and an awesome though short campaign.
In Modern Warfare 2 you play as several characters, trying to stop Russian terrorist Vladimir Makarov. Makarov is a bad man and does several things to make you mad. You have to stop him. You will travel to many different places in hopes of capturing him. There is one level though that is very controversial. I'm not going to go in too much detail but in that level you have to kill innocent people. Thankfully, though, if you don't want to do that, you don't have to. You can skip the mission if you want. The campaign, I loved, it had great memorable moments that I will for sure remember. From climbing up mountains, to stopping bad guys on a boat. The story though actually wasn't really good but you would expect that from first person shooters.
You have a wide array of guns to your disposal and you can also pick up guns from fallen allies and enemies. All the guns in the campaign sound great and you will be able to recognize a lot of them .
The voice acting is nice too and you might recognize some voices from other games you might have played.
The only I thing I didn't like about the campaign was that it ends too quickly. You can probably beat it in 5 hours or so. Overall though the campaign was great albeit short.
The default control layout is the same and what you would expect from a first person shooter. You shoot with the right trigger and aim with the left. You throw grenades with the right bumper and you can clicking the left thumb stick. You knife/melee someone by pressing the right thumb stick. Meleeing some one is very satisfying and you will love doing it.
The multiplayer and campaign are quite different in Modern Warfare 2. The multiplayer in call of duty is known as the best in gaming. It is quite simple but takes sometime to get good since are there so many experienced players. While it takes some time getting used to, when you are experienced and good you will love killing people online. This will also give you a chance to brag to your friends how good you are. The maps are varied, they are snow maps and maps where you play in a village, to maps where you play in an airport. The maps in Modern Warfare 2 are nice and unique. In Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer, there are different classes. Each class has it's own weapon and unique features. You can also create your own custom classes. Custom classes help you a lot as you can mix and match weapons and perks.Perks let you modify your classes and that is really helpful. Leveling up is very important in multiplayer. When you level up, you can unlock more guns and perks. I loved the multiplayer and I kept coming back to play more. I'm sure you will be hooked to it too. Something I loved doing in multiplayer was stabbing people from behind with my knife. It was really satisfying and I felt really good. Something that did bother me though was the lag and constant swearing from immature little kids.
Overall, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is very fun and exciting. The campaign has very memorable moments but it is short. The multiplayer will keep making you come back for more, despite having a few issues. If you like first person shooters, you should pick up Modern Warfare 2.
This used to be one of my favorite games. I used to play it all the time. It has a phenomenal campaign and fantastic multiplayer. The game has three different types of modes to play which include Campaign, Special Ops, and Multiplayer. I will start off with the campaign. In the campaign you take the role of many different characters.
The campaign is pretty good, but I would suggest playing the Modern Warfare 1 before you play this game so you can get the whole story out of it, but you don't necessarily need to.
Special Ops is a mode where you compete to do special missions. They usually have to do with something with the campaign. The special ops is great if you just beat the campaign but you still want more of a challenge.
The multiplayer in my opinion is the best part. It is very good. Although there is some glitches here and there it is still a solid game. In the multiplayer the point of it is to compete with other players and to rank up your player to get more customizations.
The fifth installment of the Call of Duty franchise and the sequel to the critically acclaimed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was the most anticipated game of the year in the year it was released. Modern Warfare 2 follows the story line of Call of Duty 4 5 years on from the "final" mission. The campaign is ingenious and challenging if not fairly short. However, the plot is well designed and engaging and leads you onto the next game of the series Modern Warfare 3. Modern warfare 2 comes with a new feature to call of duty called Spec ops or special operations, in which you play out a series of missions on varying difficulties either alone or with a friend. A great way to home in on your skills and test yourself as well as having fun with your mates. Moreover, Modern Warfare 2 comes with an improved Online layout with new game modes kill streaks and weapons allowing you to go further into customization then you have been previously able to do. A great game and a must buy. A few years on and players are still playing this older game then the later additions to the series.
A game everyone who has an XBox 360 should own. You have probably heard that everyone is talking of the Call of Duty series. These games are the answer to why Activision is so big! With an amazing storyline to follow and endless amounts of fun and frustration (but in a good way!) Online multiplayer mode, this game does not get old! If you have played Modern Warfare, purchase this as it unravels the storyline even more. The characters are also excellent when it comes to this game. Missions are very fun and interactive, from riding snow mobiles, to climbing mountains and just getting really stuck into the action from the start. There is also a Special-Ops mode where you can do these very difficult missions to get the best star ratings possible - you'll be guaranteed to be shouting at your TV screen trying to get through it all. (Again this is in a good way!) This game is still a top title now and has held it's price... Because it is so good! Must get.
This is another game in my small collection that I enjoy playing on a regular basis.
The sales figures for this game speak for themselves. It's not often a good game comes along and causes such a stir as this one but it's this game that has put online gaming on the map!!
The games campaign mode is worth the money buy itself without considering the days/weeks/months of fun to be had online - Shooting your mates in the back!!
There are loads of great maps to explore and even more to be downloaded when they get tire some. There are some great online games such as "Free for all" where you work on your own and shoot everyone and anyone. And "Team Death match" where you are teamed up by the computer and battle against the other team.
There are a fantastic amount of weapons with loads of additions that make thousands of combinations for your armoury.
A word of warning regarding playing online, as the difference between success and failure is so small, any lag in your internet connection will make it even more difficult to enjoy or win. Everything is here to enjoy a complete gaming experience, graphics, sound and game play all at the highest level.
To make it even more enticing this game is now available at only £14.99 on Amazon this is due to newer additions being released.
I would recommend anyone who is into shoot em up games to go and buy. You will enjoy the gaming experience.
This is the 6th game in the Call Of Duty collection, It is the sequel to the smash hit Call Of Duty 4. In Call Of Duty 6 there is war between USA and russia and you are fighting in different locations around the world, one mission your fighting to regain power in the White House, another you are fighting in a mountain base to retrieve some intel to being launched out of a submarine to save hostages on a oil rig. Activision and infinity ward have done an amazing job to make this game as exciting and action packed as it is.
The part of Call Of Duty which makes it what it is is the multiplayer mode and it is no different on this game, the graphics are amazing and with all the new weapons and the camos and attachments to make them personal to you. also the kill-streaks are great (see list below)
4 kills-counter UAV
4 kills-care package
5 kills-sentry gun
5 kills- predator missile
6 kills-precision Air-strike
7 kills-harrier Strike
7 kills attack Helicopter
8 kills-Emergency Airdrop
9 kills pave low
9 kills stealth bomber
11 kills chopper gunner
11 kills AC-130
15 kills EMP
25 kills Tactical nuke
there is another mode called spec ops where you can play different side missions on your own or with a friend
the only bad thing I can find with this game is one of the missions you are playing a spy who goes into an airport and kills all the civilians but there is a option to skip it so its not to bad.
Call of Duty Modern warfare 2 is the sequel to call of duty: modern warfare, and later 2011 will be the prequel to Modern warfare 3.
Modern warfare 2 is split into 3 different areas. Spec ops, Campaign and Online multiplayer.
Spec Ops - Can either be played on your own or with a partner. Takes a while and alot of patience if like me your not too good but its absolutly hillarious trying to play with a friend. The 2 player is a great addition to the game as it adds something extra, rather than just campaign or online multiplayer. You can also try to beat Infinity Wards best times which is a challenge but when you get into it, it CAN BE DONE =]
Campaign - Can only be played sinlge player. Has a story which follows from COD 4 and in one level you can omit the rather controversial level of shooting lots of civilians in an airport. The story can be played with or without the level as there are no achievements linked to the level, and really doesnt do much. I beleive it was just added to get more people to play the game, who doesnt like a bit of controversy these days.
Online Multiplayer - Okay so there are alot of hackers in the multiplayer which can be a hinderance and the hosts from all over the world can make you lag like crazy but when you get good games (More often than not) you have the oppertunity to rank up, collect xp and kick some butt.
You can collect xp for killing enimies, shooting down the enemy intelligence, such as hellicopters, uav's harriers and everything else they can put in the sky.
You can play objective games to also collect xp. Xp are your experience points which get you to rank up and once you reach level 70 you can prestige, opening up lots of other challeneges which once you complete unlock emblems and titles which you can show off to all the other online players.
Online games come in many forms from free for all, team deathmatch, domination, headquaters and then you've got the hardcore versions of most of the game types, and also a third person shooter.
Normal game types come with a onscreen radar whereas hardcore you need to be careful not only do you need to watch for team mates shooting them can kill them and yourself if your unlucky enough.
The online multiplayer is by far the best around. Much more appealing than black ops which many people myself included have gone back to playing Modern Warfare 2 after the appauling black ops.
Even after completing the campaign mode you will not get bored of this game as you get special ops which i find quite difficult but fun to play on 2 player with my partner. But the best thing about this game is playing it online. The maps are interesting, although they could have added some more. Its challenging but you can play on it for hours because there are different online game modes like free-for-all and team death match and search and destroy where your team has to plant the bomb before the other team kills your team.another great thing about this game is the ability to quickscope which you cannot do on other call of duties.this is when you shoot with a sniper while only looking through the lense for a second.it takes alot of practice but is worth it when you get the hang of it and quickscope lobbies are very popular on this game.i would definately recomend this game to anyone.
Modern Warfare 2 is the Call Of Duty follow-up to the console best-seller with you once more taking on modern-day terrorist threats all across the globe. A first-person shooter, the game was not without controversy upon release but still manages to be one of the best of its type in a genre flooded by similar looking titles!
Basically if you have never played one of these games before, the idea is to go around in a variety of authentic locations and blow the s*** out of lots of bad guys. There is a story-line in single-player but if you, like me and most other gamers, really want to get down to it, you will skip many of the cut scenes and get straight to the chase! Though it can be lots of fun in single-player though, where it really comes in to its own is online on Xbox Live where you can play people all across the world in a variety of modes that includes Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch or Free For All which is really not for the faint-hearted!!!
But I mentioned controversy?
Well, in one of the levels (that you can choose to emit on the opening menu but be warned, you only get asked this once the first time you play so it is worth considering before you make your decision) you go undercover with a terrorist group whose first act is to open fire on civilians in the midst of a busy Airport! Do you join in? Do you stand by and just watch? The only thing that is certain is that you cannot open fire on your comrades or you will fail the mission! And though, this doesn't perhaps sound so bad, in reality watching this onscreen can be very disturbing! Not scince playing Manhunt have I ever felt quite so dirty playing a game!
Put in just to create a furore in the Press and gain a bit of free publicity? That's very cynical of you to think that but you could just be right! Certainly the level adds little to the game and could be missed with no loss to what follows on.
For me, this is simply one of the best multi-player shooters around! I couldn't really give two hoots about the story mode and that is only ever really good for gaining a few valuable Gamer Points and getting used to the controls and what buttons to press! Going Live though is where this is really at and with a wide selection of maps that you can choose to fight on, it is also one of the most popular games around to play;outside of the more recent Black Ops which almost everyone has said is flawed, seeing them come back in droves to this instead!
If you only buy one shooter for multi-player it should be this! If instead you want to get more from your single-player exprience, I would reccommend World At War!
Call of Duty has to be one of the best games I have played, not only just for the career mode but the online mode aswell. The maps are really realistic and are really well made. The online experience really graps you into the game and basically makes you addicted after a while, you won't be able to take yourself away from it!
It has a lot of variety of guns and you can customise your own class to how you want it. You can also choose your rewards for kill streaks, which makes you want to play until you get them all! The career mode goes on for a decent amount of time but you can easily finish it if you are on it everyday. But you can then choose to do the career mode again in medium mode and higher mode. Nearlly each level that you achieve online gains you more guns, accessories and kill streaks. You can play against people from different countrys, which makes it even better.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is undoubtedly a superb game. I'm now playing online a couple of hours a day, or just when chilling out with flat mates. You really should try it if you haven't.
Admittedly it can be frustrating; the online set up means that as soon as you hook up your 360 to live, you'll be playing with the cream of top players. This can be frustrating as you find yourself getting killed all the time and struggling to kill others. With this in mind, my advice would be to use this game with other newbies (like yourself) and grow to understand the game together. Another option is go through the campaign mode, and whilst these modes are extremely realistic, for me, they don't offer the same kind of thrilling experience.
In conclusion I would say that this game is definitely worth buying but be more than prepared to put in some preparation time before you enjoy it fully.
I decided to buy Modern Warfare 2 on the day of release as it was only £26.00 on the first day of release at my local Sainsbury's store. It was a great bargain the queues were quite long since everyone wanted Modern Warfare 2 on the day of release, I couldn't blame them as the game was at a very cheap price.
Modern Warfare 2 is a first person action game which was released on the 10 November 2009. The game was one of the fastest selling games and sold roughly 4.7 million copies worldwide and was also the best selling game in the UK. The game has been released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
[Special Ops and Campaign Mode]
Modern Warfare 2 features Special Ops mode which allows two players to work together as a team and replay a level based on a mission from the campaign mode such as the level in 'Evasion' which is based on the campaign mission 'Contingency'. Special Ops mode can be played online as well as offline as long as you have Xbox Live Gold Membership which allows you to play with your friends, have party chats and using social networking sites such as Facebook.
The Modern Warfare 2 campaign is set around modern day combat fighting in the desert sands of Afghanistan, City urban fighting in the USA, Arctic warfare in Russia and also Brazil. The campaign mode takes you from where Call of Duty 4 left off and throughout the campaign you start to remember the story line you start to remember the story line from Call of Duty 4.
[Xbox Live Mode and Split Screen]
To use the Xbox Live Game mode you must be connected to the internet and have Xbox Live gold Membership. On the Live mode you can play against other players across the world with your friends or have a private match for just you and your friends. You level up by gaining 'XP' which is earned by killing players and completing challenges. Updates are updated regularly to avoid moders from editing the game. Around 2 weeks after the game was released there were quite a lot of hackers who were at 10th prestige and anyone who was caught with a 10th prestige account was banned. They later lifted this rule.
Split screen is quite similar to online mode but you can only play with up to 4 players, you level up and earn XP separately to Xbox Live. If you have a live account and you are connected to the internet you can use your online account on split screen but you will not earn any XP while you're in split screen mode.
Stimulus Map pack was the first map pack released for Modern Warfare 2 and was released on the Xbox 360 on the 30th of March 2010 and was released for the PlayStation 3 and PC a month later.
Resurgence Map pack was released on the 3rd of June 2010 for the Xbox 360 and was released on the PlayStation 3 and PC a month later
Let's get something straight, I play a lot of video games. I mean a LOT of games. So I'm constantly getting new games and trying out new stuff.
I have had this game for more than a year. And I still play it every two or three days. STILL. This game features 3 game modes; Campaign, Special Ops, and Multiplayer. I'm not even going to bother discussing the campaign or Special Ops, you want to read about them, go somewhere else. I'm going to talk about the multiplayer, for it is probably the best online play I have ever, EVER had in any game. EVER. I simply can't express how much I love this game, it might even be my favorite of all-time. Yes, my headline for this review is correct, I have played this game for more than 40 hours total already. Call me a geek, a no-lifer, I really don't care to be perfectly honest with you, this game is so good, why should I stop playing it?
The multiplayer is Modern Warfare 2 is, in my opinion better than the new Black Ops. There are around 20 different game modes to choose for online, though I've only ever played probably 10 of them. The most popular mode, by far, is Team Deathmatch, where whichever team gets 75 kills first is the winner.
I really do love this game, but when it comes to describing it I realize I'm doing a pretty poor job, I really am not sure how to emphasize how great this game is. I guess if I personally had to choose one thing that I like about it the most I would say that the fact that it is a skill game. It is not some stupid gun game like Black Ops, where whoever is using the better gun automatically seems to win. Modern Warfare 2 always allows the more skilled player to display their dominance, and that's an awesome feeling when you know that you can be dominant in the game even with the worst weapon. I don't like knowing I am at a disadvantage just because I'm not using a particular gun. Modern Warfare 2 never has had that effect on me, therefore I have nothing bad to say about it.
I am a massive Call Of Duty Fan. I have had ever single title for PS2 and Xbox 360 and as you can guess , I was really excited for this title. I was not disappointed. Everything about this game is amazing.
***The Game Modes***
There is 3 great games modes:
Multi player- The most popular of the games modes. The multi player is a game mode where up to 18 players play against each other in a variety of game modes. You earn XP which let you rank up and unlock new guns. The MW2 (modern warfare 2) multi player is better than ever before including more kill streaks and more guns.
Campaign- This is how Call of Duty's were first played. You play through the story against enemy's controlled by the computer. A exciting game mode that can be played offline.
Special Ops- A new game mode to MW2. Very similar to campaign but in more of a arcade style. You have to complete the mission in the quickest time possible , and complete certain objectives. A fast paced , thrilling game mode !
Stunning. Especially if played on a HD ready TV with a HDMI cable. The most realistic game I have ever played. The movements of the other players looks real and when a player is looking in a straight line , they look like they are looking around for enemy's. The landscape is crisp and bright. You feel like you are there on the battlefield!
This game is just made even better by the sound. You can hear ever bullet whiz past your head...every empty cartirage tumble to the floor and the screams of your allies and your enemy's. You really feel like you are there. The soundtrack is amazing as well. It really gives the game some tension and make the climaxes even more tense!
***Where to get it?***
Any game console store or Amazon. I brought this game on the day of release for £45. The price isn't much different today because of the huge demand. I would be happy paying even £60. It is that amazing.
