About - Colin McRae Dirt was first introduced in 2008. With its counterpart No2 stage launching in late 2009. These were very successful games physically and graphically. But, then came the time for change. Yours truly, DIRT 3. It crashed, .....and someone said.... 'I like it' - Introduction- Dirt 3 now has the Gymkhana which requires a diverse and quite demanding style of driving. You basically have to drive round obstacles as fast as possible to obtain as many points as you can. Game play- The game play is superb. The graphics look incredible, the damage and controllable slow-mo is tasteful. And the sense of achievement in cleanly completing a stage is outright top notch splendid. The sense of speed is also quite rewarding. There are over 50 cars to choose from, the very modern to the very old with my person favourite the classic mini. Owning one myself it handles exactly as I'd imagine it would do above 70 mph. Multiplayer hasn't changed all that much but then what else could they possibly do on a staged event race? Now....to the Gymkhana. This is no doubt the main interest to Dirt 3. We've seen the stunt games and the shooting racing games, but when it comes to driving skill. This tests it. You do have the option for an assisted driving experience which in short corrects your mistakes and slight misjudgements somewhat making it considerably easier to get 360s round barrels and lampposts etc. It also keeps the car on ...or off the straight and narrow. If you opt for the complete driving experience prepare for frustration and anger until you completely master the feel of the cars. ( note - each car feels different due to drive arrangement, weight and ground surface) I had a lot of fun racing certain tracks on the Gymkhana against a mate. Taking turns upon beating each other's time. The great part of it being, there is no set route. You take whichever hurdle in whichever order you wish. My advice, if you like racing games that requires skill. This would be it. Likes- Graphics and the driving feel. Dislikes- Loading times. Cool features- The Gymkhana. Hope this helps!
