good game which will last any respectable gamer at least a few days to try and find all the possible ways of playing the game. me personally i like the idea of being able to go through the game avoiding killing people and finding ways to complete your missions without killing people which actually encourages exploring the game world to find these possible ways to complete the game.
i like the fact that the game will show you the consequences for you actions say for example if you kill loads of people the next time you are on that game area there will be more guards around. i like the story of the game with the way how you can get drawn into the universe and read all of the information that the game presents you in notes. i lie the fact that this game encourages you to look around your environment and take it in to find alternative routes instead of using the obvious route.
i would encourage the reader of the review to play this game if only for them to experience what i said for themselves.
Dishonored. I've read reviews, spoken to my friends and spoken to gamers in stores. Eventually after hearing everyone raving about it i decided to get it. Frankly, I don't see what the big fuss it about.
OK, I'll admit that the game is pretty cool.
First you've got the story. A guy being framed, losing his position, his respect and basically his life. Now on a mission to redeem himself along with to avenge the death of a friend and to rescue someone he loves. A classical story which never gets old. Sometimes I do feel though that the steps taken to fix things become rather repetitive. It just seems to be kill THIS person, or kill THAT person. I realize that killing is a big part of the game but just seems a little too big if you ask me.
Then, you've got the powers. Now this is something that a did really like about the game. The fact that you can slow time, teleport and all sorts of crazy other things, I'll agree that the powers were something that were pretty cool about this game. And frankly, for a game with guns and assassination, you don't normally find this king of thing in this kind of game so, cool.
One thing I just want to comment on is Corvo's mask. I mean, who doesn't love that thing. It looks, awesome!
The graphics are not what I was expected or wanted, for a game of this standing. They were cartoon! Now I'm not necessarily saying that this is a bad thing. For some it may be a good thing but for me I would have preferred some really high quality graphics. But, as long as the game runs smoothly then i can accept the cartoon style.
Personally, I like the idea of this game and it could have something that I really loved but it's not my favorite. Would recommend but there are better games out there.
