The combat system still feels outdated when compared to modern games. You also get to play as the dragon which is fun at first but quickly looses it appeal Graphics is very poor and looks botched up. Music is taken from the film but doenst go with the game as well. Voice acting is done from the actors from the movie yet it lacks their excitement. There is a ...more

Premium Review Eragon (Xbox 360): Dragons, magic, sword fights. What went wrong? (239 words)

with a big screen movie its game adaptation follows and Eragon is no different. The game follows the movie with you playing as similar characters. The plot is of a young farmboy becoming a dragon rider after a long time where most of the dragons have been slayed. The plot is good as it got a solid backing from a book as well as the movie. The gameplay does have co op mode so a buddy can drop in anytime which is alwasy fun. Yu can fight with a sword, shoot arrows or pull off some magic which is quite interesting. Oh dear, oh dear what a mess of a game, this game certainly could make it into the Game of the Year- yes you got it WORSE Game of the Year. Luckily this was a rented game and if its Gamerpoints you are after, you should have 900 points within a couple of nights, but it means you would have to play the game twice. This is where you have to be strong if you really want the Gamerpoints then go for it, i personally couldn't face two playing sessions because its that bad a game. 360 games have never really produced a decent direct movie tie-in game, to be fair the history of games, bar Goldeneye, have never had a good record with movie tie-ins. I haven't seen the ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

This game is one of the most disappointing games I have played in a long time. Normally with fantasy games there is a certain level of customizability a player gets with the character or the character abilities This game offers nothing of the sort - what you see is what you get with it. There is usually a certain level of flexibility to completing levels, this doesn't offer anything of the sort either. The most disappointing thing about this is that it also offers nothing varied or original. The achievements for this game are all "Secret" so you have nothing to strive for or look forward to ...  Read the complete review
