== FORZA MOTORSPORT 3 ==
Forza Motorsport 3 is a car racing game with authentic cars and tracks. It is one of the best car racing games ever made and one of the biggest. Forza Motorsport 3 was developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. The game is an Xbox 360 exclusive and not available on any other system. Forza Motorsport 3 doesn't feature a story and is only based on Season Play. This is the first Forza Motorsport to feature a calendar system instead of normal tournaments or cups. Forza Motorsport 3 is also the first car game I can remember being 2 discs. Disc 2 of the game is an install disc and features more cars and tracks. There is Xbox Live content available for download to gold members but may cost Microsoft Points. Numerous car packs are also on Xbox Live.
=== GAMEPLAY ===
Forza Motorsport 3 now has a calendar in which events are put onto it. You choose from 3 tournaments and the races for that tournament are spread out onto your calendar. Over the coming weeks you will race in those events in numerous races. It could be three, four or even more races and you must finish first overall to receive more cash, better prizes and even trophies. The races you compete in will be varied, some will have very few laps whilst other may feature lots of laps. Before starting a race you must pick the right car to compete in the race. races have restrictions so that you cant use the same car and just whiz through the game. Before a race starts you can alter a few things such as turning assists, changing audio, go in your HUD, tune your car and view the starting grid. Assists is the place where you can turn certain difficulties on or off. You can change the overall difficulty of that race also you can turn autobrake on if you wish which lets the computer brake on bends so you don['t have to, you can turn off damage if you don't want a wrecked car or badly damaged car so your going slow and much more can be altered here.
When in an actual race on Forza Motorsport 3 you will notice that in the top left hand corner of the screen is your position overall and in the top right hand corner it tells you how many laps you have left to do in the race. The aim of each race is to try and pass your opponents without bashing them to hard but if you do it doesn't make too much difference unless you have the damage turned on and you must finish all the laps. On the final lap you must be in first place to win but if you don't manage to win you can restart by pausing the game or you can retry after if you so wish. Laps basically mean how many times you have to go around the current track. There are pit stops on most tracks but you rarely use this until later on because most tracks only have very few laps. If you pause in a race you can do a couple of decent things which include going into photo mode. In photo mode you can take photos of your current race, car, opponents car, the weather or anything else you can see with your eyes.
Music also plays whilst your driving which can also be turned off if its not your cup of tea. Also when in a race and you do something your not proud of like take a wrong turn, then don't worry because a new feature is available for you. Now you can press the back button on your controller to rewind time a little to your last best position before you did the wrong deed. On all the tracks there is some really nice scenery and some fantastic weather effects that can alter races. For an example some races you enter will be cloudy but before you know it a thunder storm has arrived and you will find yourself driving in treacherous conditions. Rain makes roads extra slippery so be cautious. Also on the tracks will be numerous different bends in which some need to be approached with care. Some of which will require you to almost stop because they are extremely tight. The racing is all about winning.
In Forza Motorsport 3 there are lots of different tracks that you will come up against and some of these can prove somewhat difficult. Also the game may try and surprise you with some tracks because sometimes they are reversed. There are well over 400 licensed cars in Forza Motorsport 3 in which you can buy with credits and drive in any game mode. Credits are earned from winning races or selling unused cars. With the downloadable content to the game there are more than 470 licensed cars. All cars when bought can be used in Season Play, multiplayer with friends and online against the worlds best gamers. In the online modes you can create races to compete in or you can try and find races to join and compete in. Here you can invite friends as well as set up private races just for fun. The races are the same as Season Play with the fact its a certain number of laps and a set amount of racers. All of the game modes in Forza Motorsport 3 are fun to play especially with the challenge of friends in multiplayer. Lastly in Forza Motorsport 3 you can now gain a thing called Driver Level. You go up levels every so often when the bar at the end of every race fills up. Gaining levels will give you better rewards for completing races and events. You can also now level up your cars by using them frequently and winning races with them.
=== GRAPHICS ===
Forza Motorsport 3 is one stunning racing game with some beautiful graphical features. All of the cars are superbly detailed and look like real authentic cars. Also the tracks in the game are real tracks and have been designed to look exactly like they do in real life and to be perfectly honest they all look fantastic. Something Forza Motorsport 3 has is stunning scenery which you can admire whilst driving around tracks at super fast speed in some beautifully designed cars. Also in photo mode you can witness the full effect of the superb graphics by walking around in first person mode with a camera in hand. You can walk right up to cars or other features and take in the beauty that is Forza Motorsport 3. Overall the stunning graphics are certainly a plus point for this game and you wont be at all disappointed.
=== SOUND EFFECTS ===
The sound effects to this game aren't far short of being in the same class as the graphics. However one of the worst thing I disliked about the game was the atrocious menu music because its just far too simple and boring. The in game radio that seems to be built in every car is different and the music for that is actually really good and is definitely my kind of music. One thing that really impressed me was the sound effects the cars make such as engines or when you collide with other cars. They truly sound perfect and certainly make the games sound effects overall something special. I was also impressed with the other sound effects that are inn the game.
=== DIFFICULTY ===
The difficulty to Forza Motorsport 3 is an interesting subject but that's mainly because the difficulty can be altered before every race to suit your needs. With all assists turned on I find the game far too easy and not at all challenging and this is only recommended if you're new to racing games. Having all the assists turned on makes the game quite tricky because that means no automatic or assisted braking and certainly no guidance line which usually shows you the best route to take and how much to slow down on bends. I tend to have the difficulty on normal because I like having the guidance line there and I would recommend this difficulty more so than the others. Online gameplay difficulty varies on who you are up against and what skill level they are. Overall the difficulty of the game is great because you can choose what assists to have on or off.
=== LONGEVITY ===
Forza Motorsport 3 has only one proper single player game mode which is Season Play. Season Play is a place where you play many years in the game and try to finish first in every race. You can play a total of 6 years in season play and by the very end of season 6 you would of completed a total of 55 events, you should of achieved maximum driver level, earned all your gift cars and spent over a whopping 60 hours racing. So I believe the game in terms of length is really good and that's not including online play which could possibly add another 20 hours of gameplay. So overall a superb game with plenty of gaming to be had.
=== ACHIEVEMENTS ===
Forza Motorsport 3 features a staggering total of 50 achievements which need to be acquired. The mixture of achievements in this game is really good and involve reaching certain driver levels, certain car levels, owning a car from every manufacturer and selling a car to someone online. There are a lot of achievements that involve a lot of hard work but within time you will achieve most of these as you progress through the game. I'm a big fan of the achievements to Forza Motorsport 3.
=== FINAL THOUGHT ===
My final thoughts on the game are good. It has everything to be considered the best car racing game out there. Okay there isn't an awful lot of variety in the game modes but that doesn't alter the fact Forza Motorsport 3 is jam packed full with over 400 unique and authentic cars as well as lots of authenticated tracks. The game is very much like the Gran Turismo series but I have to say Forza Motorsport games have taken the gaming world by storm and has pipped Gran Turismo to many awards. This is of course the third game in the series with the first being on the original Xbox and the second being on the Xbox 360. However there is now a Forza Motorsport 4 available in shops.
I would recommend the game not only because its one of the most realistic cars games around but because it can offer a lot to fans of car racing at its peak. If you like car games then Forza Motorsport 3 is right up your street and I can promise it wont disappoint. Its fast, authentic and beautiful. Its something different from games such as Need For Speed and Burnout. Forza Motorsport 3 is one of the biggest racing games and I would recommend it to just about everyone because its got a difficulty to suit you as it can be changed anytime. The manual to the game is fairly good and lists most information that you need. Also the game has an age rating of 3+.
I bought my Forza Motorsport 3 from one of my friends who was going to take it back to Game because he had completed it. It cost me only £8 which is fantastic for a game caliber. The game is in most game shops and its also available on Amazon and other online shopping sites. Amazon currently have the game on there for around £6 for a used copy and £12 for a new copy and in my opinion its worth both prices.
Forza Motorsport 3 is a game I admire and love. I would give Forza Motorsport 3 a very solid 9/10!

I had never played the forza series which if like me you have enjoyed racing games throughout your life which mainly consisted of the gran turismo series. I brought forza 3 ages ago and have enjoyed the sleek graphics and great race courses either in the single player or best of all the online multiplayer if you have xbox live (read other review) where you pit yourself in a upto eight player race.
Online multiplayer has its flaws in some respects where you are waiting for a race just to hurtle into the first coner and get plowed off the course by some that just go online to annoy people. If that happens to you then you have to plod on through a pointless race just to wait for the next one to start and wasting your time but its not all bad as some rooms you will have fantastic races with people that know what they are doing and can make friends online to race against in the future.
There are many many many car manufacturers with lots of cars availible and over course of the games lifetime there have been many more made downloadable via the xbox live marketplace although this version has many more cars and brands available than the originally released game which for the right price makes it a steal.
The game has the usual buy upgrade race feel to it that any game of this type will have with body damage for the cars and even a fuel gauge and pit stops needed in some races. The inside car view is epic while hurtling down the nurburgring straight at over 200 mph although watching the driver steer does not represent a real amount of wheel turn compared to normal driving but its a small error.
The car sounds are great from the off with a host of roaring v8's and v12's etc tearing off down the tarmac with the sensation of damage and tyre wear effecting the performance of the car the game has it all especially when on your last lap you make a school boy error and have to settle for second place after what feels and age of concentration.
Each car obviously has its own pro's and con's such as the veyron is as fast as they come but handles like the titanic trying to do a handbrake turn. The game starts off in the typical way of using the lower spec cars first to build up your skills and bank account but soon you will be tearing up the tarmac in a much better motor. The R1 cars are the fastest in the game with rapid acceleration and dream handling and braking which feels like you are racing in a ship from star wars.
There is over 400 fully upgradeable cars to race over 100 tracks from around the world and the one player season mode pits you on all of the tracks in different spec cars meaning there is a massive game lifespan from racing a range rover on le mans in france to using a high spec ferrari on silverstone the possibilities are near endless. The season mode has certain criteria for racing meaning you have to have a D spec car to compete in various championships but as you modify your car its level will increase so you have to think abbout what perfornmace part you add otherwish your amazing A class race will move up and be a slow R3 class rendering it useless for that class.
The game has the standard xbox live acheivements to fullfill over the seasonn play and other modes and you can perfect your skills in practice where if you are into your photography can takie amazing mountain side photos which you can sell in your own storefront which is a online shop you can sell tuning setups photos and car paintwork and graphic designs. There is a marketplace for cars like a online car ebay where if you see something you like and have enough credits then buy or sell away.
All in all a great racer but forza 4 will be along soon!
Forza Motorsport 3 by Turn 10 and released for xbox 360 has been rated by many as the top racing simulator on the market today. A first look at the game to any new comer of the racing genre or the Forza series, may feel a little over whelmed but with easy to read and follow help instructions makes it easy to quickly pick up how to work the menus and navigate the game.
You are introduced in your first race with the Audi R8, a supercar in the game to give you a little preview of what's to come in the game but also to familiarise your self with the controls. For new players this is also a chance to experience the help assets the game offers such as, breaking lines, reduced difficulty, breaking help and much more to assist the player.
Another amazing feature of the game is the vast range of cars and manufacturers in the game. With over 150 + manufacturers in the game you will be able to easily find a car that suits your driving style. This leads on to the customizable aspects of the game. ALL the cars in the game have a variety of different combinations of different upgrades and parts to be added to influence the performance of your car. This is then continued into the tuning menu of the game.
The tuning menu allows you to change ALL aspects of the cars internals from the engine to gears, tyre air pressure, axel angle, break pressure and many of aspects to truly make your car your own and to suit it specifically to your driving type. The tuning in FM3 is the most advanced i have seen in the driving genre with other games which have a basic tuning option. With FM3 you can edit it to 2 decimal places, and in some cases 3 decimal places.
The game is progressed through by racing through series and different events and challenges keeping giving the player a verity of different challenges to keep the player entertained and hooked on the game.
Finally the game offers a feature called the "Livery Editor" which allows the player to custom paint the car with different decals and vinyl's to create breath taking paint jobs which can then be sold in the FM3 online store or auction house.
In my opinion this is just a brief overview into the game. It is a must have for any fans of the racing genre and is a benchmark to over games in this genre. With all the events and wide choice of races and locations you will be entertained and locked into this game and it defiantly is value for money.
Forza Motorsport 3: Ultimate Edition includes Forza Motorsport 3 game and all downloadable game content (before 2011). An amazing and only realistic driving simulator game today on the Xbox 360. Beautiful graphics and smooth gameplay, choose from 500+ cars and drive around intense tracks from all over the world. Often compared to the PS3's driving simulator Gran Turismo 5, but Forza Motorport 3 is in a league of its own. Amazing Customisations of Vehicles include upgrading and tuning of you vehicles. Sure the achievement list can be easily completed but only after alot of time consumed and alot of miles covered before you can achieve 100 percent, lets face it an achievement for getting gold on every championship and theres around 225 races with many laps in the double figures will take a while. Features include Arcade Play, Season and insane multiplayer modes makes this the Driving Simulation game of the Decade!!
All in all an Ultimate game for an Ultimate Price, Easily an Xbox 360 "Must-Own" Game!!
Forza 3 is my favorite racing game of all-time, and I'll jump right into this review and tell you why- the controls. Most racing games are extremely unrealistic with the controls, turns that one would never be able to make in real life are simple to slide through. That's the biggest problem with games like Need for Speed, impossible things happen all the time. However, Forza 3 is the closest feel you will ever get to actually getting behind the wheel and racing. You have to be a darn good driver to succeed with Forza, and I love games that truly allow the best player to clearly be the determined winner. Forza 3 fits that requirement to perfection. The turns must be made gracefully or you're gonna spin and lose a lot of speed. You have to make sure you are sliding into the turns smoothly at the right time or someones gonna be rolling through the grass. Remember in Need for Speed or Gran Turismo where you could bump the rear of the car in front of you and slightly turn so they would spin out of control? You can't do that in Forza, just like you can't do that in real life. You have to make sure that you're not bumping with other cars, the crashes in Forza are realistic, even slight tips against the vehicle next to you can be deadly.
The game also sports some of the greatest graphics I have ever seen in a racing game. The tracks are beautiful and crisp, and there is a lot of variety between them to keep things interesting. The campaign is a blast and allows you to experience driving some of the hottest cars in some of the coolest environments. The multiplayer is a lot of fun too. However, as said above, nothing, NOTHING can compare to the awesome-ness that comes the controls of this game.
Forza 3 is racing fans dream. It has many tracks for any kind of driver, from mountainous twisted paths to flat F1 tracks. There is a wide selection of cars which can be customised and tweaked in every way imagineable. The paint job editor lets you create vinyl masterpieces, the car settings let you tweak and upgrade the cars to your hearts content. There is a storefront to sell your designs and cars as well as a fairly fun singlplayer. Unfortuntely the game lacks changing weather effects, but the driving is still brilliant. The cars react realistically, and range from slow, mini coopers to incredibly fast F1 cars which are often hard to control. Included in the track list is the famous Nurburgring, one of the longest tracks in the world and is a blast to race on. The multiplayer works incredibly well, with no lag and well made matchmaking.
I have been a fan of racing games all my life and have grew up playing PGR on the xbox and grand trismo on the playstation. They were always considered the two leading racing games on the market. I managed to purchase the first forza and I was really impressed. It had all the qualtys of both games in one but with amazing graphics. You can even get forza 1 and 2 really cheap now and if you havent experienced then you deff should give them ago.
I got the new forza 3 when it was released as I am a xbox fan and wont even look at playstations grand trismo. The gameplay is so enjoyable, the graphics are so realistic and the cars look, sound and race incredable. As a keen race gamer I have the settings on the hardest to give my self a bigger challenge and I found that is deff what i got. Some games even in hard mode still let the user win to easy, I found that forza gave me a real challenge and real excitment to win.
The maps are in so much detail from the track to a person in the crowd, MS have definatly put their time in getting the graphics spot on.
The range of cars you can have is so good. The career is like most racing games were you have to earn points or money to be able to buy new cars or you unlock them in competitions. The good this with forza is that there always bringing out new cars available to download.
The online play is real fun too, I was always a big fan of PGR online and this I think is better!
Forza 3 is a driving simulator developed by Microsoft studios and is direct competition with Sony's Gran Turismo. Forza offers many levels of driving experiences for many different experienced levels of driver! You do not need to be a motorhead to enjoy this game, it can be fun and competitive without needing to know the in's and out's of an engine.
Graphics: As far as driving sims go, Forza is definately a strong contender, the car models are practically flawless and beautifully textured. The tracks are excellently mapped and you can find yourself looking at the scenery from time to time loosing yourself in the environment! The menus are nice and simple, designed allowing you to navigate easily from menu to menu. There is a calendar system showing upcomgin races and events which gives you the option to participate. Each victory or position giving you points, which you can spend on cars or upgrades. There is also a decal creator, which allows you to make your car your own. If you have a bit of artistic flare you can make your car look quite sporty! Or you can dress it up as an Indie Car or Rally car, pretty much whatever your taste is!
Gameplay: The gameplay pretty much depends on your style of racing, and the help you have on. You can ask for assists for racing lines, braking, ABS, Traction control and a few more. You also have a choice of driving views, from bonnet, in car, behind, again depending on your preference of driving view, this can alter the drving experience. The best way to play this game is with the in car view, giving you the most enclosed and realistic experience possible. With the use of the assists, this determines the AI ability, sometimes the AI leaves a lot to be desired, but I guess like in racing, they stick to the driving lines and corning and are competitive. There just does not seem to be an predictions made to your current driving line by the AI. The Game plays through in seasons, through races and events, and gives you a sense of participating in series of top challenges!
Sound: The engine sounds are lovely, realistic as far as I can tell (I'm no Motorhead though) and are believable, the manoeuvring sounds enhance the feeling of driving ie tire screeching and braking engine wind down. The music is mostly fast and implusive, which I believe helps to increase the general pace of the game, seeming to add a sense of urgency.
Enchancements: The only way this game could be made better is with an add on. In this case, the Microsoft Force feedback steering wheel is a worthy addition to the overall experience of this game.
Overall, well worth the money, especially now that it's next to nothing in price! and will be a great game to build on now before Forza 4 hits the shelves! 9/10
