Gears of - wait i thought i wiped out all of them (Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360))

Advantages: great game and stunning gameplay and sound

Disadvantages: something i really don't like ???

Gears of war 2 has a really strong story, basically after killing all of the locust in the first game they have come back to life in the second game, but there is more advanced things and new characters, the first act is about training the new guy (carmines brother) and it is pretty much a tutorial mission for those who don't know the controls, with all new features added gears of war 2 is much better than its little brother.

The graphics in gears of war 2 are really good, the characters have improved dramatically, one thing I notices was that the characters had all the same battle scars as in the fist one, another thing I notices was the detail in Thai's face (New Character) when he shoots himself with the shotgun, the scenery is really good because they have put a lot of detail into the bits behind the main scene, the characters moving is really smooth and well detailed.

The gameplay is fantastic, the screen is more developed when you get shot, the weapons are more developed and have a better shot sound and reload times, the online has a big difference than in the first game, you have ranks, I'm not sure what they go to because I don't play it 24/7, so far I have ranked up to 23 and most people online are around 30, there are collectibles to find in the second game, you find them round cheeky corners and in secret hiding places.

The thing I love about the gameplay is the little fun things you get to do in each level, example (My favourite part) is when you have to chainsaw through the giant rock worms 4 hearts and get out before the blood drowns you!, gears of war is full of little fun things like this, the campaign has four difficulties insane being the hardest, completing the game will result in you getting about 1/3 of all the achievements.

The sound quality is brilliant, the music is almost the same as the first one, characters voices are surprisingly the same as their previous self, sound effects are really good, the guns have a deeper more thorough sound to them, and the chainsaw sounds even better, the locust have really weird voices and sometimes the same as the previous locust!

In conclusion Gears of war 2 is a really good game, there is one thing about the gears of war series that I really don't like but I can't put my finger on it, but overall a really good game, I would give it a 9/10 for story, 9/10 graphics, 10/10 for gameplay and a 10/10 for sound, overall I would give this game a 9.5/10, thanks for reading, Liam
