As a player of the previous two titles in the trilogy, I was keen to see if the final game lived up to the hype. It does. It is an amazingly written story, completely different to any other shooter title on the market at present. It offers a completely unique gaming experience combining third person action with the thrill of a first person shooter. The storyline is strong yet again in the third game with breathtaking graphics and enough spills and thrills to keep you entertained. However if the storyline isnt your thing then the multitude of gamemodes will keep you entertained. Returning is the ever popular horde mode from gears of war 2. Horde is playable by up to 5 people, and is essentially a survival game split into 50 rounds with each round increasing in difficulty. It really is a challenge to complete the 50 waves and once this is done it can be repeated on all of the online multiplayer maps, and also at all the 4 campaign difficulties (Casual - Insane). A brand new edition to the title is the introduction of beast. Beast is a spin on the usual Gears Of War games, where you can actually play as the locus, and other enemys. The idea is essential to destroy all of the cog members and you gain money and experience points for the damage you inflict. One enough damage is inflicted you unlock the next tier of monsters available. You start off as things like a wretch and tickers and if enough points are scored you can reach the final rank of beserker. It is very entertaining and again has good replay value as like horde it can be played on different difficulties and all of the multiplayer maps. It is terrific fun. All in all this is a remarkable game and definitely worth buying.
