The first downloadable episode for Grand Theft Auto 4 sees you take control of Johnny Klebitz and the Lost biker gang. The episode is ultimately a game in itself simply being set in the same Liberty City as before and at around 8-12 hours long does not match up to the original games length but is comparable to several full price games in length and quality.
The gameplay is very much the same as GTA4 and the only real improvement is the bikes. You can now ride them much easier without falling off and this is a great relief as you will spend most of your time in this game on top of one. The same cover mechanics return for the shooting segments of the game. Mission stucture is again the same as the original as you travel around town meeting people who give you jobs to carry out. You will also cross the path of Niko and his friends/enemies as you progress through the game.
Graphically the game employs a grainy effect in order to show the grittiness of the organisation you are working with. This can be turned off to experience the original graphics of GTA4 but it works well with the themes of this episode.
Overall this add-on is well worth the money and is probably one of the most complete pieces of downloadable content that you can find for a game. Anyone who enjoyed Liberty City and wants to get back into the action should definately pick this up.
GTA The Lost and damned is an xbox 360 exclusive DLC for the game GTA IV. It is available for 1600 points. This DLC is a huge 1.8GB and could take a while to download depending on your connection.
The DLC lets you play as the 'vice president' of the Lost Biker gang, Johnny Klebitz. As this is a biker DLC the handling for the bikes as been improved so its a lot harder to fall off the bikes. This was a much needed update and its a shame that it doesn't carry over into the normal GTA IV. The missions in this DLC are typical GTA style missions however unlike the normal GTA IV you are dropped straight into the action without hours of pointless tutorials. The story crosses over with the normal GTA IV and you learn a lot more about some of the characters and you get to learn more about the smuggled diamonds that played a big part in GTA IV.
It also includes a new multiplayer modes. The one I enjoyed the most was witness protection where you either play as cops escorting witness to prisons across liberty city or play as 'the lost biker gang' and try to take the witness out. The only problem with a multiplayer is that there seems to be hardly anyone playing any of the modes expect for the normal GTA IV freemode and GTA IV races. Even though the new modes are fun just don't expect to find a whole bunch of people to play with. Hopefully this problem will be resolved once 'Episodes from Liberty City' is released.
This is hands down one of the best DLC on the market place that will provide hours of entertainment. If you have GTA IV and enjoyed it then you should not hesitate to buy this DLC instantly. There is also a Gold members offer going on at the time of writing this review where the price of the DLC has been reduced by 25% which would be 1200 points.
Grand Theft Auto 4 was a massive hit and this exclusive expansion pack for the Xbox 360 is set to be a big hit too.
This game has a whole new storyline that stars Johnny Klebitz who was briefly featured in Nikos story in GTA he is a member of a biker gang called The Lost, you break your leader out of jail and the story starts. Its a mixture of GTA humor and has a darker tone to it which will keep you hooked throughout the rather lengthy 10 hour game, which is rather long for an expansion pack.
The gameplay hasn't changed to much from the original Grand Theft Auto formula you do missions and those involve a mixture of driving and shooting, there are a few tweaks to the gameplay, for example the bikes have been made easier to drive which is great as they were a bit unwieldy in GTA4.
There are a few new weapons to get your hands on too. You can also just free roam around the gorgeous Liberty City if you want and have lots of fun just driving around and going on rampages!
The price of this new content for GTA4 is 1600 Microsoft points and it is only available through download from Xbox Live, there is a disk version coming out with both expansion packs later on though so if your not online you'll still be able to get it.
I downloaded this game off xbox live for £15.99 in the hope that it would make me feel that the first £50 I had spent on Grand theft auto V I, and to completley honest I think that this game injected me with the satisfaction I had wanted in the first place, rather than following the story of a rather null and boring polish character, we follow Liberty cities version of a hells angel gang, lead by Johnny Klebitz. The graphics though many may disagree I believe they present the amazing prospects of bluray technology, and causes the game to be even more entertaining. If you are a fan of the niko bellic storyline, you will be pleased to know that the the lost and damned storyline at certain points intercepts with that of its prequel. Overall I would recommend the game, especially if your a fan of the game series as it is at points fun, witty and yet dark.
Grand theft auto 5 is arguably one of the greatest ever games to hit the 360 and lost and damned did not disappoint in being one of the greatest downloadable content for the 360. The missions are fun and enjoyable the new storyline is refreshing to a game that after hours of playing on you are getting tired of it. The new weapons are excellent and brilliantly fun to use. However the new vehicles were disappointing with just a few alright bikes on offer. The missions despite being fun lacked difficulty and the completion time for the DLC is just 10 hours. But this quite simply the best DLC on the market and for all the downsides it is a must buy.
The new Downloadable content for GTA 4
Story;Johnny Klebitz is a member of a biker gang and the leader has come come back from rehab and initiates the gang war with the opposing biker gang.
Gameplay; Good, the combat is the same as gta 4 so you need to hide behind things and shoot while trying not to alert the police (see my other review for more info about the game flow) thankfully theyve improved the turning and other feartures of the bikes since i was getting annoyed with bieng tapped by a car and then flying 2 metres in the air. Also they now have bike races which is sick since theyre easy targets its alot easier also there are many more side missions which makes this game just like a mini cheaper gta. Also you have a biker gang which if you ride in the middle you get health, there are also 25 gang wars to complete, which are you joining up with your crew and killing some bikers. There are also a few new radio stations i hear but im not sure.
Weapons; There are a few new editions including the sawed off shotgun which can be fired while on a bike, a pipe bomb.grenade launcer, an automatic pistol and best of all... a pool que, thats what i call getting wood.
I have never played a Grand theft auto game before in my life, then my brother got G T A 4 for Christmas and it is amazing, i think it is an incrediable game and anyone who doesnt have it is missing out ! it does have some bad language but that goes with out saying it is an 18 + . The game allows you to drive around to different destinations and take part in different missions which will allow you to upgrade your status, the game also allows you to unlock new islands and meet new people. the gane enables you to pick and chose your favourite cars, i normally chose a hummer or a range rover. even though im not a great supporter of guns, i feel that the game is harm less, and allows many people hours of fun on missions and exploring the new areas in USA
So, Grand Theft Auto DLC - the original game was stunning, this should be no less impressive, right? Well, yes, actually. Personally I thought the original GTA was a stunning game, but it had its downfalls, such as nagging friends, and taking itself a little too seriously.
I was going to buy this DLC pretty much as soon as I heard about it, but was a little apprehensive because it's based around bikes, as the bike handling in GTA wasn't up to much, to be honest. But this DLC does a lot to address those issues - the bikes handle brilliantly, the story is good, and the atmosphere is somewhat more relaxed than the original game. What's also interesting is how this new story overlaps with the original game; although Niko doesn't really feature as a character here, you can still meet him as he's doing his own missions from the original GTA - you even get to participate in those missions, but see things from a different perspective, which is very clever and works well.
All in all, if you loved the original GTA, you really can't go wrong with this - it's more of the same, but better.
GTA IV: The Lost And Damned
This is an expansion pack for the massively popular Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360, released earlier in the year. It is based around the main premise and storyline of the original game but with some great new guns, cars and gameplay modes. It is available via the xbox marketplace for 800 MS points.
I was a massive fan of the original game and this first expansion pack of over 20 missions is a great asset to the series. You play Johnny Klebitz, a member of a liberty city biker gang known as the lost. You play through a total of around 20 missions that follow the usual GTA format of going to kill a guy or a bunch of guys, or stealing something and bringing it to a location unharmed. These are fun but i would have liked to have sen dome more development in this area with the addition of a few more interesting mission types. There are however a tasty new selection of multiplayer modes to get your teeth into, which are:
Witness Protection - One team is The Lost biker gang and they must try to eliminate a bus carrying witnesses while the other team is NOOSE who try to protect the bus as it delivers the witnesses to police stations around Liberty City.
Race - Racing on bikes with racers carrying bats and smashing each other, similar to the video game Road Rash.
Lone Wolf Biker - Free for all style mode where one player is the Lone Wolf and all other players must chase and kill that player to become the Lone Wolf. At the end of the game, whoever was the Lone Wolf for the longest time, wins.
Own the City - Try to gain control of the city section by section, based on San Andreas' gang wars.
Club Business - Like the original Mafia mode in GTA IV, but with a total of 8 players riding together as one gang. You receive calls from Angus who tells you to carry out certain tasks for The Lost.
Chopper vs. Chopper - Helicopter vs bike. Bike rider tries to get through checkpoint while helicopter tries to stop the biker.
I think these modes add alot to the enjoyment of the game because theres just so much to do! i especially enjoyed the witness protection mode which seems to be the most popular! Overall i think that for 800 MS points your getting alot for your money with this expansion pack. New bikes to ride and guns such as the grenade launcher and automatic shotgun add real depth and tactics to your gameplay, and the new - if same old - missions are fun to play and do get hard eventually unlike the original game. In my opinion this expansion is a must-buy for fans of the original series and at a bargain price!
This game builds on the foundations laid by Grand Theft Auto IV by introducing a new set of characters, missions and new storyline. Still set in the Liberty City of Grand Theft Auto IV, there is no real addictions in terms of locations to the map, only small tweaks and refinements. All for the better, I may add.
In The Lost And Damned you play a member of the Liberty City biker gang "The Lost" named Johnny Klebitz. You are vice president acting as president in the actual president's absence. The story revolves around biker gang politics, the drugs underworld, and general bad things like that.
The most striking difference between this add-on and the original Grand Theft Auto IV is the improved motorbike handling physics and their more integral role in the game. Your motorbike will become your primary mode of transport, and will often be used in convoy with your fellow gang members (a neat formation feature is also used during these bits).
I found the protagonist Johnny Klebitz to be quite unlikeable but fun to play as all the same. He lacks some of the charisma of Niko Bellic and is perhaps more forgetable.
There are some good missions in this add-on, though none as challenging as the hardest in GTA IV, especially the final mission, which was a massive let down and anticlimax. There are plenty of side missions and other challenges, such as the bike races (with added baseball bat action and good Xbox achievement to go with it), and the gang wars.
At 1600 Microsoft points this represents good value for what is a polished and refined, if slightly brief add-on to the Grand Theft Auto World. Highly recommended.
So this product is a card with some numbers on the back. Its got the game cover on the front and even says Xbox Live at the top!
Ok, here is the proper review, if you want more of the above then please leave a comment. lol
Using the card provided with this product, you will get exactly 1600 ms points to buy the Lost and Dmned download. This can also be purchased through Marketplace without the card, however, you will need to buy more MS points (2100 I think). In terms of money, the downoad cost about £14/15 and its worth it to.
The download is like having a room, then re-doing it. Its still the same room but it looks much better. This is firstly reflected in the maps. Although the maps are the same as GTA IV, almost all of the building's appearances have been changed. Still keeping the same brilliant graphics.
In terms of the vehicles, all of the old vehicles sre still available. Although the newer models seem to take precedent. There are plenty of new vehicles in TLAD (mostly bikes), probably about 20. The weapons are much the same although there are some new additions such as: molokotovs through cheats, better sniper, different machine guns and some more. Note: all of the od cheats and achievements work alongside the new game, as well as the new ones.
The career is the main reason people buy this download. There are about 30 new missions all centered around the Lost and Damned bike club. Your job is to get rid of the traitors in the club, but in doing so you will lose a valuable member. Meaning that by the end of the career, you will be in charge of the gang. Outside the career, there are 25 gang wars and 12 races to be completed as well.
So thats it really, I think this item is outstanding value for money. There is so much in the download and there are also some new online play modes as well.
Expand your command over the rough and tumble Grand Theft Auto underworld with GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned for Xbox 360. You'll need an Xbox LIVE connection and a GTA IV game disk to put use this add-on content, but once you're connected, you'll have a whole new perspective on Liberty City.
