Advantages: Its fun to play, and its cool to hear some remastered tracks

Disadvantages: Samely, and many of the songs are too bland

Guitar Hero 3 can best be described as a chocolate moose past filled with heroin and cocaine.

Sure it looks nice and yeh, its pretty nice at first, but before long it leaves you wanting more, and feeling empty inside.

Im not saying its a bad game, but Guitar Hero 3 had so much to live up to, it really fell short.

Firstly lets look at the song list.

I'll admit that a lot of the songs are fun to play, and many of them are classics. ((Number of the Beast, Paint it Black, Bulls on Parade, the list goes on)). But why the hell in a game supposedly for 'Rock Gods' is there a song by say the Kaiser Chiefs, or many of the other bland and samey bands. What the hell is wrong with just putting some Megadeth in there ((Which GH1, and 2 had)) or maybe even AC/DC. Perhaps I just don't like most modern music, but I truly don't give a flying f*** about playing DragonForce.

Also why the heck is it subtitled "Legends of Rock", the only really famous person in it is Slash. Alright Tom Morello may be in it, but he's hardly a legend. What's wrong with putting Angus Young in there or Dave Mustaine. You know some old faces that have made it big.

Also my main gripe would have to be the learning curve, and its inconsistency. When I reached the last set of songs on the game I first played Raining Blood, and bloody hell it was painful. I couldn't even complete more than 76% of it. But before I curled up like the girl I am and began to cry I had a go at One by Mettallica. I GOT 5 STARS ON MY FIRST GO. The song itself isn't hard as such, just long.

Perhaps Guitar Hero 3 would have been fun with more replayability, but thats driven off by even advancing from Easy to Medium, as suddenly you're told to use a new button, and move and what at first feels like light speed.

Even once you've completed the game, and unlocked everything, you've left wondering whether it was actually a decent purchase, or maybe a tad waste of money.

But all's I know is that the chocolate moose has got me bloody hooked.

Summary: Good, but give it a serious think beforehand
