Gameplay-wise, the controls and action was a little too arcade style for me to go nuts about. You have a handy zoom facility which means you can see close up the plane you're attacking and what bits have been shot out of it, but the turns and climbs are no longer technical, the strategy for going in for the kill is somewhat limited.... its more like, t...more

I'm a massive IL2 fan, so was immediately interested in this newest release of one of the best, if not THE best flight sim so far. Typically, I always sim on the PC, however, I just couldnt wait till October 2010 for the new IL2 to be released on PC, so went for a punt on this release. The first thing to say about the gameplay on this version is that you need to appreciate your playing it on a console, and as such the controls are obviously going to be limited to what you have available.
