The nonsensically named Infinite Discovery is a role playing game for the Xbox 360 developed by Square Enix.
The games main character is Capell, he is just an ordinary musician, unlike the protagonists of most RPGs he is not the first one to run into combat, preferring instead to do nothing! The moon in the game controls various magical powers but it has been chained to the earth and there is only one hope.
Capell gets caught up in the action because he happens to look like Sigmund a hero with the power to save the moon! The story I enjoyed and is helped along by a large supporting cast of characters who are all playable but sadly some are poorly developed due to the sheer number of them.
In this game you will be exploring the worlds, completing quests, collecting new items and so on, if you are familiar with RPGs this game treads little new ground but that it isn't really a bad thing.
The combat system in the game is refreshing and fun however. It shares similarities to Star Ocean Til The Ends of Time on the Playstation 2 which is little surprise as Tri Ace have had their hands on this one. Battle is totally real time and you can do regular quick and strong attacks.
Holding the attack button will perform one of your characters special abilities. Healing yourself is a bit of a pain as the game won't pause while you fumble through the menus but usually your AI team is nice enough to restore your health for you.
While it does little to break new ground in the genre it is a solid title and enjoyable too. If you are a fan of this type of game you will enjoy it.
Deep in a forest, in one of the Order's prisons, a young boy named Capell was being held captive. His captors called him the "Liberator," though he had no clue as to what they meant. On the third day of his imprisonment, he was rescued by a spirited young woman named Aya. She was a member of a small band of brave warriors who had gathered under the banner of Sigmund the Liberator to free the world from the iron grip of the Order. Upon meeting Sigmund, he was surprised to find a man who shared his very face and appearance. This meeting would change Capell's life forever and shake the foundation of the world itself.
