Forget Modern Warfare 2 - this is the sequel I was *really* waiting for. Valve has controversially released the next instalment of its popular zombie-massacre hit Left 4 Dead only about a year after the original. This infuriated some fans, who felt a new game couldn't possibly contain enough new stuff to make it worth shelling out for, and that any new concepts and missions should have been offered as downloadable content for L4D1. The beauty of L4D1 is its simplicity. I get very irritated with first-person-shooters where you have to spend time figuring out where to go next (I never really got on with Half-Life 2, Valve's other big hit, for that ... Left 4 Dead 2 Despite how critically well recieved the first game was, Left 4 Dead 2 has been recieveing its fair bit of controversy. In Australia, it has been banned because of its 'extreme violence' and chopped down to fit the country's rating system, in the UK it's boxart had to be changed because they were offended that it looked like the zombie was sticking it's two fingers up at us, and it's even recieved controversy with fans who believe that L4D2 should be released as a DLC pack rather than a full new game. But it's finally in stores, does it overcome its critisism and offer a great game? L4D2's core is fundamentally the same as the first ... Read the complete review

Zombie games have always demonstrated a substantial amount of success for game companies. With such franchises as Resident Evil and Silent Hill shifting huge amounts of copies on all the main consoles, it is clear that the survival horror genre still retains a satisfactory fan base. Perhaps one of the most recent attempts at targeting this genre was Valve's 2008 release of first person shooter "Left 4 Dead". Set in the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse, the game centres round a group of four survivors who must escape without falling victim to the hoards of the infected which now roam the streets. With a variety of guns, and throw able weapons such as pipe bombs ... Read the complete review

===INTRODUCTION=== Left 4 Dead 2 is a video game from valve that is the direct sequel to the 2008 best selling Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead 2 brings a variety of upgrades to the table that Left 4 Dead failed to capitalize on. These include a vast array of new weapons, including melee equipment, more side arms and perks, new levels to explore and new campaigns to conquer. Another unique feature to Left 4 Dead 2 however is a game mode known as "Realism" mode. Just what is realism mode, and how can a player hope to conquer it successfully? ===ABOUT THE NEW REALISM MODE=== Realism mode, as the name suggests, aims to make the game more ... Had fun with the slaughter of countless zombies in Left 4 Dead? Now in this fresh batch of zombie killing fun, Left 4 Dead 2 brings the excitement to a whole new level: Melee weapons! The melee weapons useful for those sudden zombie spam moments where you can see nothing but zombies throwing punches and kicks. The weapons, such as the Katana, can take out a small group of zombies in one blow (killing them no matter where you hit them). This time round, there are 5 campaigns to run through, with 4 new characters and 3 additions to the Special Infected, who are the Spitter, Jockey and Charger. To provide more of a challenge for expert level ... Read the complete review
