Great game overall, Just don't expect huge playtime.

I just finished this game and honestly could not have wished for more, this is no doubt worth the money, Many different types of missions and different things to do, completely unlike every type of just shoot and kill game! Ever killing you do has a reason behind it.
I couldn't stop playing the game until I finished it, it is a bit of a short storyline, but kept me failing and retrying throughout! Without thorough raging. The end of the game is a bit sudden and I really hope for a mafia 3 where your goal is to save... well, I must say no more and keep this spoiler free The graphics really aren't too bad and the police system is decent, apart from when you hit another car, don't even move and the police yell, 'In pursuit of a hit and run driver!' >.< There is no chance of avoiding that. I also think that there are too many cops, but we must remember that this is a game at the end of the day haha. I liked being able to pretend that I'm some sort of crazy private detective using the many different clothes that you can buy from the store Anyway all I can say is you MUST definitely buy this game. It is worth 100% what you paid, and you will not be disappointed.

A smart gameplay, storyline in a different style time period, setting.

When it comes to gameplay and game style, the Mafia II game has it all.
From the subtle changing weather effects to the ultra cool looking gangster suits. The striking sunsets, to the simple option of being able to turn on the taps in an apartment (completely pointless, but amazing detail!)
The game starts you off in a wwII situation which by luck has it introduces to the controls. There certainly isn't any...well if you want starting to this game. It's more of a.... you will fight now approach to Mafia II, and for that. I loved it.
The story is good, the game play is good. The Driving physics In the old style cars with no ABS nor traction control on (at the start of the game- icey roads) is certainly fun. Each bullet counts against car body work. Tyres deflate and headlights go out when shot. Car door can help you cover behind - of which there is a good duck and cover system to this game. The weapons seem realistic and the sound is clear. Side missions are fun and quite often challenging.
The police A.I are reasonable, but quite often if you decide to rob a shop. They won't come running in, but more wait outside. Not necessarily a bad thing if armed with an MG42. ...oh yes.
As the story progresses and times move on. So do the cars are scenery. There are many other little aspects to it I like. You can even steal cars and have them crushed for money. (Don't do it too often or the cops will be on to you).

With the added download content this game goes on.
All in all a superb game that did not get the attention it rightly deserved!
A must have for all who like the free roaming mission type games.
