One new graphical feature that has been added is a new "in-car view "allowing you to view the car dashboard and surroundings from inside the car, this brings great realism to the game and helps show off the xbox 360's graphical power with the reflections and partials on the windscreen. The on screen HUD displaying rev counters and Kudos etc has changed slightly but looks great. The offline career mode has many tournaments with loads of races in each one. These races are...more

Premium Review Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360): A non-stop rush of adrenaline (155 words)
by - written on 04/11/07 (Somewhat useful, 51 readings)
Rating:

A slick addition to the xbox 360 catalouge with hairpin turns and dream cars, PGR 3 is a certain classic xbox 360 game. Although the later installment of PGR4 has recently been released, don't shun this game as it has enough to compete with it's older sibling. The tracks are perfectly detailed and the cars are ultimate eye candy with paint blurring into the wind as you rack up speed on the track. The single player is lengthy in itself but it's the multiplayer that sets PGR3 aside from the other xbox 360 launch titles. With games such as Cat and mouse, which add a childish twist to car racing and the bog-standard race, PGR3 gives a sweet online package filled with hours ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Is it worth buying PGR3 ? (553 words)
by - written on 17/08/09 (Very useful, 4 readings)

When you first play the game you notice that you now don't have to stick to having a so called "naff" cars such as a mini cooper as in the previous games. This time you can jump right in and buy really powerful cars on your first play of the game. If your wanting a game that features lower speed cars such as VW Golfs or even a Subaru Impreza this game isn't for you. On the other hand, all the cars go 170mph or more and performance wise this game brings better cars to it than it's predecessors. The games menus are very cool and sleek as well as the navigation throughout the game being simple to use. The cars physics are great and drive just as well as the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360): Good Old Fashioned Gotham Fun (158 words)
by - written on 26/10/08 (Very useful, 10 readings)
Rating:

PGR3 is a fast paced arcade racing game, all the cars are super fast and super fun. The handling is not as realistic as say Forza however it is much more player friendly and easier to use. The career is good fun however it is easily completed and does not provide the depth that some other racing games have. Although the game is fun once you heave completed career mode it does seem a little too repetitive to go back and redo the career. The multiplayer is lots of fun with plenty to keep all player happy, xbox live however is not so good with few people now playing the game and those that do not providing the competition needed. Tracks can be created to provide ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Third time lucky? (210 words)
by - written on 24/09/08 (Very useful, 13 readings)
Rating:

BACKGROUND The PGR series of games first spawned to life as MSR on the Dreamcast. At the time the concept of racing in real life cities was too much to say no too. However after the Dreamcasts demise, MSR was born on the XBOX as PGR. Cutting straight to the chase, the game is easily pick up and play, and the emphasis to drive cooly, like in MSR, is addictive. As one would expect, being an HD game, the graphics are top notch, with good gameplay to back it up. However there are some things you might want to consider. PGR is an arcadey type of game at heart and the attempt to ucture e.g. master a crappy car before ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Project Gotham Racing 3 (Xbox 360): A TRULY AWFUL RACING GAME! (361 words)
by - written on 23/05/09 (Very useful, 39 readings)
Rating:

I bought this game because I saw it in Game station for about £5 and thought it was going to be really good. I had also heard of Project Gotham 4 and how it was a really good game and thought that this game was going to be a really fun and realistic racing game. How wrong I was! I have to admit I have not played this game much as I just hated it so much and have better games to play with so my review may not be completely accurate. Having played Gran Turismo on the PS2 (which is a fantastic game) I thought this would be similar. It is not. The gameplay is awful and the graphics in the game were terrible compared to other Xbox 360 games even ...  Read the complete review

Good fun, easy to play, very addictive! Not the most challenging game out there

Good fun on multi player Poorly designed!

Realistic, build a portfolio of cars, race or just drive Animation can be slightly jerky at times

Colourful visuals, gameplay is fun for a while Sims-like chores that really start to grate

Stunning next gen graphics, tireless online play, brilliant campaign. I don't know what you want me to say. A few glitches but that really is it.

Decent visuals, stellar sound, interesting setting, co-op. Poor control, repetitive action, short (though that might be good).
