This game requires loads of brain power for strategic gaming, it's a third person zombie shooter with high levels of horror and gore and is quite jumpy in parts hence the 18 recommended age for gameplay. I personally really enjoyed playing this game and completed it within a month.
This is a capcom game gold edition with addition features from the original version such as extra characters which compliment the two original characters chris and sheva, i wont give too much away as this game has to be played to be enjoyed and i think giving away too much information on the extended features of the original game will ruin the experience for gamers.
The graphics are of high quality and are really quite amazing, also hd compatible, a two player co-op split screen and xbox live compatible.
The action kicks off immediately engaging you into scenes of zombie violence and terror which can be a little shocking in parts and not for those with a weak stomach or faint hearted. Be warned!
The missions are long and get harder the further in the game you get, the violence and horror also get stronger throughout the chapters, the main mission of this game is to find out how the infection started and then to stop your nemisis who has the z virus and the game completes once he is killed.
Would i recommend
I would highly recommend this game for resident evil fans and zombie shoot em-up fans alike, one which is not for everyone due to its content, it is a fast paced game requiring quick reaction, a good memory and skill.
This a great update to 3rd person horror/action epic Resident Evil 5 and features a number of additional features to that of the initial release of the game. Now included is 'The Mercanaries Reunion' which, sadly, doesn't add any new locations but a host of new or alternate playable characters for the race-against- time shootfest :Warrior Chris, Fairytale Sheva,Heavy Metal Chris, Business Suit Sheva, Josh Stone, Rebecca Chambers and Barry Burton. Whilst some new locations would have cool, the new characters and weapons add a new dimension to the existing 'Mercanaries' content, Warrior Chris's gattling gun and Rebecca's speedy shotgun are awesome when surrounded by bloodthirsty adverseries (My suggestion for the grueling prison level would be Rebecca who is tougher than she looks and equiped with multiple first-aid sprays). Extra scenarios that form missing chapters of the game make this a worthy package, even if you have the original version and are debating whether to upgrade. 'Desperate Escape' is a frantic bid, by Josh and Jill to exit the facility and 'Lost in nightmares' returns to the creepy monsters in a mansion formula of earlier games, 'Desperate Escape' is by far the best, I love the seemingly impossible odds of playing it on professional game difficulty. Also included are extra figurines to accompany new playable characters, a neat addition to the cool 3D figures achieved from the first version of the game. In honesty a fan would enjoy the self referential Lost in Nightmares a lot more than a gamer new to the franchise, however both additional scenarios add depth and playability to the Resident evil story. If you want to play RE5 for the first time then buy this version, if you have the original edition and loved it then go fuel capitalism and greedy games studios that know this is good enough for a RE geek to buy the additional content (which is also available as DLC from X Box Marketplace, although more expensive than the lowest Amazon price for a new, unused version of the game.
